THE TRUE STEEL REPLACEMENT.-
I have a 240 hub with the aluminum piece. After years of continuous use the part got worn out and required replacement. If your goal though is to maintain your rear wheel the lightest possible this is not for you, find the aluminum original but if you want durability this is it.

Works Perfectly!
This freehub body is a direct replacement for the stock DT 350 alloy freehub body; matching its dimensions perfectly. I have several of them in use and for this, my most recent purchase, I am using it on a SRAM GX 11-spd setup with a Sunrace 11-42T cluster. Perfect fitment. I also upgraded to a 32T internal ratchet and there were no issues. The little bag this part arrives in appears to be a genuine DT Swiss part label that I have seen on the others I have bought through other channels.

Works as replacement for DT Swiss 240 Freehub Body
The DT Swiss 240 freehub body on my road bike was made of aluminum and as such the Shimano 9/10 (6700 series) cassette kept tearing into the splines. That created a subtle wobble which in turn created a noticeable rattle when riding on rough roads. It also caused my shifting to be less precise. After several experiences filing down the freehub splines to remove the damaged metal, I read about this steel freehub body and thought to give it a try. I have now been riding on this as a perfect replacement for the 240 for about a month and 1,000 miles and boom!, all the rattle is gone. I don't mind the rough roads as much (I'm mostly referring to the oiled and chipped roads which often ruin perfectly good country roads). Glad I made the purchase.

Weight penalty is worth the trade off
Original alloy body is 62 grams lighter, but as mentioned by other reviewers the alloy splines don’t last even if you do torque the cassette properly. It is too bad they can’t find a solution that is both light and strong, but I’ll take durability over light weight all day long.

Good part.
It’s pretty heavy but it is nice and sturdy definitely recommend. My 11 speed cassette fit perfectly.

Steel is real. Way better than the aluminum ones . Fits my dt swiss 340 and 350 rear hubs i paired this freehub body with some 54t star ratchets 😀
