Great, enormous map.1. It's definitely laminated. It's an appropriate thickness of lamination for this scale. Something really stiff couldn't be rolled and shipped (you don't want the cost of shipping a 4' by 6.5' item in the flat). But it's sturdy, glossy, and plenty thick. I stapled through it many times to adhere it to my boards, and no ripping. Be sure to attach at many points. Using a couple of push pins to secure it to the wall will not work.2. I used .75" by 1.5" boards cut to 78", stapled them about 20 times each along the frame on top and bottom. I would recommend stapling the bottom end close to the top edge of the wood so it doesn't bow forward when hanging. I put 3 sawtooth hangers on the top board, made them as level as possible, and only had to reposition one nail on my wall once. I also put a few nails directly through the map into the wall around the edges to hold it back against the wall. I could have used velcro but didn't think of that till afterward; anyway this is very unobtrusive and elegant, so hey. It would have been more beautiful if I'd stained the boards, but I'm 7.5 months pregnant so I pick my battles. Maybe I'll do a wash on it eventually.3. It's beautiful! Very sedate colors so it will look nice with your decor, and country lines are clearly visible. Has major cities. I kind of can't believe how nice it is for the price. I highly recommend.4. It came rolled up nicely in good condition. Be careful when unrolling! Don't let it just pop out, you might crease it that way. Unroll on the floor.

Regardless of some other reviews it is laminated. No it’s not laminated like a drivers license it’s flexible, I got the biggest one 77x46, I suggest you do too. Get the biggest that you can even if it fills the wall, you will be glad you did. Glossy, write on it and wipe with a white board marker, don’t use a sharpie. I layed it flat overnight with books on it too flatten it, made it easier to hang. Use a helper and you won’t damage it. Don’t crease it, you won’t get rid of it. Please use a helper! It has nice neutral tones, I have it over my desk at home office. It looks masculine but would look great in anyone’s room. Living room focal point maybe,. It is detailed, maybe not perfect for a classroom but that’s only my take on it. But I think it' is really perfect as decor for travelers and others who want a “smart” look.

I love this giant map. I'm giving it five stars because the product itself is exactly as described and very nice. I love that it includes some sea floor topography. It is not laminated in the sense we may think (harder plastic covering that extends beyond the edges), but it is coated nicely and seems protected. It's shiny, but not as shiny as it might be if fully laminated.If this map were to be reimagined, I would prefer a Pacific centric layout instead. I would also like Antarctica to be represented completely. (It's missing the US base McMurdo, where I spent some time.) Actually, it would be nice to see both North Pole and South Pole.I added moulding and created a frame and it looks beautiful in my breakfast nook, where I can stare at it all morning. ;)

Giant is not an understatement. This map is huge. Like that it is laminated. Print could be a little darker but other than that, really like the map with all its detail. Doesn't come with a frame so you'll either need to buy one or do like we did & place a strip of wood across top & bottom to ease hanging & hold it open. Map arrives rolled up. You may also want to measure and confirm it will fit. The original wall we were considering for it turned out to be a bit too small since map was too close to the crown molding. Decided to move some other items and hang in family room. Looks very nice.

Overall great quality. Really like the vintage style for a more subdued presentation. The lamination is good quality, will be trying some dry erase markers soon to see what the outcome will be.Only complaint: the borders are marked with a fuzzy line that too easily blends in. Would prefer a bolder color so I could more easily decipher the borders.Map comes rolled up lengthwise. I unrolled, left out for the night, then rolled it up widthwise. With the use of masking tape and ingenuity I was able to install it completely by myself. Happy with how it came out.

I am currently helping my parents sell their house and we needed something on the wall in the office due to it being large and empty. This helped add to the room--removing the large white space. It is of course not expensive laminate but somewhat cheap; however, it is a good buy. It is detailed and large. A framed map this size would have been over $100 and we are trying not to spend too much. For the price, do not expect expensive laminate.

I bought this map as a gift. Every few days he mentioned he wanted a huge world map in his office. It came quick, it was the perfect size for his office. It is on a gloss paper and is not really laminated but it’s good quality. I really liked that this map wasn’t rainbow, I loved the gray brown sepia colors. He bought 4 pieces of wood and a black stain with poly and cut the edges and glued together. He attached it to the map with staple gun. It looks great in his office. Would highly recommend!

I was thrilled with our new map. I've been looking for a large map to fill a space in our laundry room and this product was perfect. It was very well packaged and arrived quickly... and cost so much less than other large world maps! Now, we just have to insert the maps pins. A wonderful way to remember our family travels!
