Q: Hi, how do you charge the batteries? a separate charger? Can you purchase a second set of batteries as a backup? I want to take it camping for a week

Hi Stuart, thanks for asking! The Boombox features 4 removable C batteries specially designed for the device. When plugging the Boombox to the AC using the provided power cable, you will be able to use it directly and it will also silently recharge the batteries. We do not recommend recharging our batteries with another device than the Boombox itself though and also cannot guarantee that other batteries will work properly with our unit or will not damage it. For the moment, we do not offer battery spares but they may become available in the near future. Maybe with an AC adapter installed in your van/camping car you would be able to set your Boombox to recharge when on the road, but that's just an idea ;D I hope this answered your question and helped you make your choice.
