Va-x212bk, X2 Stealth 1,2 Liter vacuum flask, Black, 18/8 stainless steel, BPA & LFGB tested

Mere weeks after I purchased a pair of these, the pour valve in the cap of one of them failed. Upon inspection of the broken pieces, the cause of the failure became obvious.As you can see in the attached photo, there was an air bubble in the plastic of the valve shaft, and the bubble is present right at a point where the plastic shaft narrows to create a detente to hold the spring in place. It was a point of failure just waiting to happen. That particular part never should have been trusted to mere plastic in the first place, and this from a manufacturer with "steel" in the name!I tried for days to contact the manufacturer, IsoSteel, which is a German company, but they were conveniently unreachable by any means. At one point I found what appeared to be a phone number for a regional representative here in the United States; I called and left a message, which was all I could do, but no one ever returned my call.I can still get limited use of the flask, but it's no longer fit for travel. My wife gets full use of hers. Thanks a lot, IsoSteel. So much for that legendary German engineering.Addendum: There is a happy ending to the story after all: I did what perhaps I should have done in the first place and contacted the seller via Amazon, and they put me in touch with the manufacturer, who arranged replacement product for me. Rather than send just a replacement part, I received an entire new flask. I'm keeping the broken one and might later re-engineer the shaft of metal If can can obtain a mini-lathe to make it practical.In my frustration while initially writing the review, I was not entirely fair-minded, focused as I was on the point of failure. I must now add that the flask itself is really quite impressive and performs admirably. I was skeptical of the value of the interior copper plating but it may in fact be aiding insulation, as the flask can keep a drink ice-cold for more than 24 hours if enough ice is added.While the valve actuator may still be a cause for concern as point of failure, this flask is a very good one to have, especially if the company continues supporting it after the sale.

Good isolation and keep liquid hot but very heavy so if you have bag pack and big walking trail in your plan, please count its weight separately.. you can not ignore.
