I bought this battery for my Canon Vixia HF G40 camcorder. According to Canon's own manual they state that if you DON'T use an original Canon battery for this camcorder the battery life will not appear in the OLED screen or view finder nor will it charge properly in the Canon CG-800 battery charger.Canon is wrong on both counts. Not only does this battery work in the CG-800 charger but the battery life will display in the OLED screen and viewfinder with the remaining recording time in minutes right next to the battery icon. With the original battery and this generic battery I don't have to worry about running out of battery before my project is complete.I never buy electronics unless I can swap batteries. So that leaves out iPhones and tablets.

This item actually saved me. I was about to buy a brand new battery from B&H for $150.00 so I did some research on my canon vixia hf g30 and found out that it stops charging the battery after 2 yrs, I read somewhere that someone said they purchased this battery charger and it actually charged the battery so I tried it out and guess what? It really works 100% so now I'm very happy and I ended up saving $150. So 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Battery showed 230 min in camera on screen. Ran 20 min. Dead. Charged up over night showed full. 10 min run time. Dead again. Now won't charge. Sending back for another.

This battery is slightly larger than the one I’m replacing, but has a longer lasting usage time than my previous battery ever provided. I really like that!

Bought two. Both worked for a short while and now only one charges.I believe it's the battery connectors on the battery that are faulty.The one that works, works great.So.... not five stars because only half of them work.

Needed a second battery for a old Canon Vixia HG20 camcorder that was being borrowed by a friend. Bought this battery based on reviews and cost as it was likely a one time requirement. The battery was well packed and a welcome surprise was that it was an extended battery with more capacity that the original. It charged up just fine and it was nice to see the increased recording time it provided.
