This is a lovely 5m roof burner, I've used others and this one is like the Rolls Royce version and I'm extremely happy with it.The quality is outstanding, everything feels solid and really safe. The hose is very thick and robust yet very flexible. The ignition switch makes this torch even better, in itself a massive safety fearure.Yesterday I used the torch to rapidly dry 100kg of sharp sand in a cement mixer, and I really enjoyed doing that. Today I will have a go a some weeds and soon I'll get up on a massive (10x18m) flat roof and do some repairs.In all, this is exactly the sort of equipment that you need to safely use gas to burn stuff.

I bought this for burning weeds and it certainly does that and with a vengeance. The first thing I noticed though was that it came without any instructions so it took a bit of experimenting to get the lighting pressure and flow rate of gas procedure right! I discovered that the pizo ignition pin needed adjusting to get a fatter spark and this can be done by gently pressing the tubular split pin through its holder with a small screwdriver and with the gas hose disconnected from the tank of course!!! It's not cheap to run but a lot easier on my back. Don't try lighting it indoors.

I followed the instructions which said, upon connecting the hose to the gas bottle, to check for leaks. Immediately I found gas coming from the chrome metal hose end, which was out of shape, and a pin sized hole about 1cm up the hose, which promptly went pop. I’m not sure if this is poor quality control at the factory, or careless packaging / delivery. Either way, I’ve got a useless gas burner which is getting returned.

Good build quality, and well presented. Easy to connect to a cylinder, as the regulator, hose and torch are already connected. The cylinder pulls off the torch end, so you can clean any deposits, carbon, or soot, from spark electrodes, so don't pay attention to those who say it does not spark. Chances are, they haven't cleaned the electrode. Good quality metal, and perfect for what I need it to do.
