Great and Refreshingly Simple
I picked Jonathan's book up on a whim and I'm not disappointed. As a person that's been healing much abuse and triggers from lifelong traumas the past 5 years of my own soul journey - I can say that this book is refreshing. If you're looking for a good read and a reminder to return to love, this is the book for you.If you've been drowning in self-help land and need a break from the constant stream of methodologies- then this book is for you.If you're new to approaching more true authentic genuine self-love, then this book is definitely for you.Great read and heartfelt. Johnathan gets straight to the point and provides a small stepping stone to understanding just how simple it is to communicate truths from the heart. I recommend it.

This book will help you see how important self love is
Growing up Catholic, there's a lot of messages about dying to self and helping others first. However, as I got older, I realized that you can't please everyone, especially your own parents.Jonathon has the amazing ability to describe his own experiences and show you how what he has learned can apply to your own life. It will encourage you to think of past experiences in a different light, showing you that many of us go through similar traumas, whether it's a major illness (in my case, cancer in my 20s), divorce, financial crisis, losing a job, and so on.These traumas need healing, sometimes by talking to a trained counselor. There should be no stigma or shame in seeking help. Emotionally strong people can get the help they need as long as they seek it out and are open. As someone who's had depression and has a family history of depression, I've been so relieved to find excellent therapists who can help me heal from past experiences. This book will support you in your quest to know and like yourself better. It's compact, doesn't pull any punches and is easy to read. I highly recommend it.

A must read for all people!! ❤️
I listen to Jonathan’s YouTube videos and I am just hooked !! He is an amazing “People coach “he talks about relationships and self love, and different behaviors between men and women that try to bring us together in a very simplified no nonsense bottom line to the point advice. His book titled What the heck is self-love anyways is a fantastic book that everybody should own and do the work to love yourself as he talks about and explains thoroughly which not only improves your confidence your communication and your relationship with yourself , but he teaches us that self-love brings so much joy and happiness when we take the time to take care of ourselves , Love on ourselves and then we have the ability to love on others in a healthier way. No codependency no attachment just love for oneself and others!! He really shows you how to put your power and love out into the world and onto yourself. His enthusiasm is contagious and it’s felt throughout his book. I totally recommend this book!! 😄

Some very helpful information
First, my heart goes out to the author who lost a son at a young age. The strength and resiliency he presents is admirable. The book's title is somewhat inexact as it does not reveal or define what self love is. Instead, the book argues that, if you engage in the various practices and attitudes the author espouses and teaches, then you are practicing self love. This does not ring true for me. Applying what the author teaches is not necessarily an indication of self love, though it could be. For me, self love is independent of any self help practices but more treating oneself with the same compassion and understanding that one treats those he or she loves. We so often forgive and understand others but don't do the same for ourselves. The practices can help promotes self love, but they are not self love. There is still a decent amount of helpful information in the book, although other authors present it in more structured and effective ways. Worth reading but not absolutely necessary.

Puts life into perspective
I got into watching the author's YouTube videos after a heart-wrenching break-up. I'm not dramatic and do not wallow in self pity, but I was having a hard time at this point in my life. This book changed my attitude and the way I think about myself. It made me realize that I had to love and respect MYSELF, take care of MY needs in order to help others, which is what I enjoy doing. It's an easy read and I could actually read it once a year just to remind myself! I highly recommend for anyone.

Nailed it
This book was spot on in terms of insights and some concrete actions that can be taken to feel stronger and more healthy as an individual or in a relationship. If you’re experienced with the ideas here (not just intellectually but have lived them), you will be familiar with much of the content, but there are many nuggets and I learned some things that were critical for me at this point in my life. Hopefully everyone will find that is the case. I think there could be even more specific recommendations and some concepts may feel pretty “fuzzy” depending on awareness level, but overall would recommend this book to anyone. Read it on Kindle and will be ordering hard copy to share with others. Thanks Johnathan for sharing; absolutely wonderful and borne of love

Thought provoking, encouraging and practical all in one book!
My book arrived Saturday and I read it Sunday. Well written and to the point. Perfect illustrations of what self love really means. Listening to your inner voice, your intuition, saying no to things instead of yes to please others. Be kind and loving, but also to yourself. Fill your self love cup up so out of that abundance you can love others with an open heart. This book, for me, struck the right balance between being too light or too heavy. Real substance here without feeling like you were contemplating every move or thought you’ve had in your life.I highly recommend! In fact I’m gifting this book today to someone that I work with and I bought the audio version to listen to book to reinforce what I read.
