An enjoyable story
The language used is suitable for the advertised level A2/B1 and the plot is more amusing than most graded readers at this level.

Enjoyable way to learn
As I have been learning German, I have been reading the various Angelika Bohn books. I thought I'd leave a review to recommend to anyone who wants to practice reading. There aren't too many options for beginner friendly books, particularly ones which have an interesting plot. This is why I enjoy this book so much. I would say the books are in line with the levels stated. I read this book after completing B1.1 and I found it to be at a good level for me. I needed to look up occasional words but not enough that it interrupted the reading experience.I was really gripped on the plot. Two very different characters are brought together by a mystery-they have both been delivered letters addressed to the other. The letters continue to be delivered, each with various tasks to complete. Throughout the book, the stakes are raised while the two characters try and discover who is writing these letters. Particularly towards the end of the book when more and more clues are coming to light, I found I couldn't put the book down. I would have never have guessed the ending! At the end of each chapter there are some key translations which is helpful so you can stay immersed in the text. This book came with a free download of some exercises (reading comprehension and grammar ie conjugation) which added to the experience. Many of the other Angelika Bohn books I have read have come with a free download of an audiobook which has been good. Especially with these additional features, I would say this book and the others by Angelika Bohn are really good value for money.

An good story well written
This book shows that it is possible to write a good flowing story at the A2/B1 level. A number of boos that profess to be this standard are quite stilted.I entered the series at this level because its a bit below my comprehension levels, I have been reading B2, but there was still a lot to be learn. I planned to go on to the next level, but might also try the authors books at A1/A2, all reading is good I have been told.

Great book for learning A2 level German
I highly recommend this book for A2 level German. It has English translations for key words at the end of each chapter. But by the end of the book, I found that I didn't need them and was reading fluently. The story is pretty good too, and I warmed to the main character. This is one of the first German books I have read cover to cover. Usually I give up due to frustration or boredom.I look forward to starting the authors next book at B1 level.

Makes language learning fun
I love all of Angelika Bohn's easy readers. She is great at using repetitive language and easy sentence structures but still making it feel like a normal, fun story that I'd enjoy reading in English!I'm now on the next one at B1/B2 level, which is a bit above me and I'm needing to get more help, but there is just nothing else that even compared for having fun while reading at this early level in German.

Interesting story
Really good - simple enough to understand, but actually an interesting story. Didn’t feel like a chore to read like a lot of other “simple German” books, and whilst the vocab was limited enough to read without having to look every other word up, there was some nice new vocabulary and colloquialisms.
