I'm already thinking I should have bought more than one to start!
My ship date for this product was supposed to be a couple of weeks from now? It was the first thing to arrive from my order in about 2 days time! This pad is longer and thicker than anticipated. Yes, I did see the measurements but they always seem to be a tad shy of what is stated if you know what I mean? But not with this item! It is well made. The foil lining is adhered to the rest of the mat very well with no lifting along the edges. The attached elastic loops for keeping it rolled up are awesome and attached well. Unrolled it is very long. I laid down on it with just a light t shirt and sweat pants and immediately felt the heat radiated back towards me from the reflective side. My two dogs and I immediately started rolling around on it and neither ones toe nails punctured it yet both are due to have their nails trimmed. When rolled up the circumference is just over 16 inches with the total across the center being only 5 inches across. This rolls nice and small and will be much easier to transport than my egg crate pad! I may have to get 2 more as these will stow on the sides inside of my jeep in the back and save valuable room to pack bulkier items like my tent and cooler. I'm also thinking of cutting one in half and using each halve as a dog pad while hanging around camp to keep the dogs from getting chilled. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Light, waterproof, and warm
This is not your best option if you are looking for a luxurious and comfortable sleep surface. It does however block out the cold and it does provide a little padding. It is perfect as a supplemental cushion that allows you to extend a summer style air pad to a three or four season pad. These are cheap enough that you can pick up a couple and cut the second one up to become camp sitting or kneeling pads. I am sure that the mylar surface does ad a marginal amount of reflected radiant heat. Unfortunately, that mylar surface also ads a level of slipperiness to the pad. The foam side of the pad will stay in place while the mylar side slides around. If you toss and turn at night, it is best to put the mylar side down. That way, the pad will stay connected to your sleeping bag even though it might move on the tent floor. Of course, this may not be a good idea if you are sleeping on a slope.Overall, this is a great buy for the price.

It is thin.
I actually bought this for insulation in a camper. Seems to be doing the job

When they say thermal, they ain't lying!
Well folks, you aren't gonna believe the use for which I bought this. Not for camping. Nope. My house is heated by propane. I live in Maine...you know, where winters are so harsh that even polar bears say "To hell with that I'm going to Florida." My propane tank sits in a spot that gets the brunt of it every time we have a wind advisory here, and then the regulator freezes. And so do I. So I talked to my go-to hardware guy and he said to build a shelter around it. I'm a disabled woman. Yeah, my friends call me McGyver for my facility at home repairs. But building a shelter is not in my current skill set. So I came onto trusty old Amazon and started looking for some sort of fix. And I found this mat. Went back to my go-to guy and said, "How about if I just wrap it for the time being?" and he said, go for it. Well you'll never guess. No more frozen regulator. It has to be wrapped carefully to allow air to circulate around the regulator, but it works like a charm. So yeah, I'm loving this thing.

Great value for money
We purchased these for a cold weather camping to put underneath our regular camp pads. They were recommended by a friend who does a lot of extreme backpacking and she did not steer us wrong. We've camped in sub 20 degrees twice with these and did not have issues with the cold Earth (but we did also have two sleeping bags each). They've held up for two car camping trips so far. One now has a rip on the foil due to carelessness but it should hold up fine with a little duct tape.

Not for Thru Hiking. Might last a week?
For those of you, like me, who are patiently waiting for Gossamer Gear and MLD to restock their 1/8 pads and are looking for a temporary replacement: -- this ain't it. I liked the thought of a 1/4" pad with the mylar coating, but unfortunately this just doesn't have the heartiness required for long backpacking trips. Mine began to tear up on a two night trip - the mylar is bubbling up and the foam can hardly take being taken on and off of my pack throughout the day, much less being used as a sit pad regularly. I'm sure there is a time and a place for this thing, but a long backpacking trip isn't it. Hope this helps someone! -Hotpants

I used these cushions to insulate the inside of my boat hull
I adhered these pads to the inside of my sailboat hull for insulation...the result is better than I thought it would be. A boat hull absorbs UV radiation/heat from the sun and that heat is radiated inside the hull/cabin. This insulation has decreased the average heat on a sunny day by maybe 10 degrees or so inside the boat. Great.

A little bulky.
A little too bulky for backpacking. Worked as intende, good size and I was relatively comfortable using in conjunction with a sleeping pad.
