Lip stuff red
My daughter loves this. It's one of her favorite. She also likes the fact that it stays on for a really long time.

Love this product!
Love love this bright red in shade "new americana". It is the prefect red shade for Christmas and valentine. Love the creamy formula and the matte finish. And to topped with some sort of lip moisturizer, oil or gloss you name it it's perfecto!! Definitely recommend!

Great color and stays on forever!
I admit it: I'm so hooked on these Velvetines! They are my first foray into Lime Crime's makeup, and they really do live up to the hype!Cashmere is a gorgeous "greige" color, with a tiny bit of lavender/pink mixed in. I haven't seen anyone that doesn't look good in it, and to my extreme happiness, it looks good on me too!Application does take some skill, however, but once you get a good method for yourself, it's much easier. This is a liquid lip color that's applied with a doe foot applicator, much like most lip glosses are. The lip color dries really fast, and is opaque with one coat. I usually carefully draw an outline around my lips with the tip of the applicator, and then I fill it in with the more broad portion. I never have to dip the applicator back into the bottle because there's just the right amount for one complete application on it when I pull it out. You do need to work sort of quickly – remove mistakes immediately or they'll stay there all day – because it dries within seconds. After I'm completely done applying the liquid, I keep my mouth open and my lips kind of stretched into a wide exaggerated smile, to allow the product to dry without collecting in the crevices of my lips. Once it's dried down completely, it's a beautiful velvety matte texture. I've never used anything like it! This stuff stays on through drinking out of a bottle, straw, gentle kisses, even a meal, assuming it's not terribly greasy. The only downside to using the Velvetines is that they do tend to make your lips dry. This is true of all matte liquid lippies, and it's a trade-off for the superb staying power. I use a lip scrub every few nights, and I keep my lips moisturized with the Laneige sleeping pack for lips overnight. In the morning, I apply a moisturizing balm to my lips up until I am ready to apply my lip color, when I simply wipe it off. If you have balm on your lips before application, or if you apply some afterwards, it will seriously decrease the staying power. If you find that it's wearing off in the middle portion of your mouth, you'll usually have much better results if you can remove the color completely and reapply it. If I'm out and I see this, I just use lip balm to remove Velvetines from my lips! Any oil-based cleanser – or even coconut or jojoba oil – will easily remove the color, as will many makeup wipes. A bonus to the oil is additional moisture in your lips. Don't try to force it off with water and a washcloth or an ineffective makeup remover; pulling on your lips will HURT and can cause wrinkles later on. No thanks!Overall, I really love the Velvetines as a product, and Cashmere is my favorite color. I lost mine on the subway and had to reorder it. It's one of the very few items that I like enough to reorder! The color is very close to the swatch pictured, and the claims about staying power are absolutely true. Once I figured out the best way to apply these, I found that I can wear them every day, and I do.

Darker than it appears online
I've wanted Riot for awhile and finally decided to purchase. I'm a little disappointed because I feel that the shade is much darker in person than it appears online, even in the most amateur photos taken by real people (trust me, I've stalked this shade for a long time and there isn't a picture I haven't seen at this point) and it has a much more rust orange undertone to it than I expected it to have. It kind of makes my teeth look yellowed which is not the look I was going for. I wonder if the shade changed slightly during mass production from the shade it was in earlier batches, or if it was always this dark. I suppose I'll never know. The formula is okay, but it's not the absolute be all and end all. It is lightweight and doesn't dry to a mask like, tight looking texture (unlike some other matte liquid lipsticks I've tried, like Milani), but it does have a weird, mild stickiness after it sets. It kind of feels the way lash glue feels on your fingers after its dried. Dry, but still somewhat sticky. It also makes my lips look a bit drier than I'd like as well. Pretty much every line is accentuated. I wear enough matte lipstick to know that this is characteristic of mattes, especially liquid mattes. Yet, I own and use plenty that don't make my lips look this dry or aged. The applicator makes it a bit difficult to apply without getting any hard edges or completely even edges for that matter. I always prefer applying lipstick with a brush because it provides a softer effect and isn't so hard looking. I'll play with it a bit and see if using a lipstick brush in lieu of the sponge tip applicator helps any.It does have great staying power and is virtually transfer proof. So, it's got that going for it.All in all, if I had known Riot was going to be this dark and rust orange/brick red looking in person, I probably would have passed.** Update 6/30/17**I've decided to give Velvatines another shot and ordered Eclipse in the metallic (which I have also reviewed) and Bleached, even though it's incredibly similar to theBalm Meet Matte in Commited (which has been dubbed as a dupe for Bleached) which I also own and have reviewed. Even though it's similar it's definitely not the same color. I feel Bleached leans more toward peach/orange whereas theBalm's Commited leans more toward pink/mauve. I feel like Dose in Bare With Me is more similar overall but has about the same price tag as Bleached.Bleached is a very wearable color especially for the day, but I feel it still looks different in person than it does online and in review or swatch photos. So, keep that in mind. I would say Bleached is best for light to medium skin tones and may look like a light coral on deeper skin tones. The formula is quite a bit better than what I experienced with Riot. It applies better overall and doesn't look nearly as paint like or dry on my lips as Riot does. The wear time is pretty fantastic and only fades after eating. The smell is the same with all LC's Velvetines. To me is smells like vanilla sugar cookies, which is quite pleasant while applying but then dissipates, which is ideal to me personally.I really like the overall look of Bleached paired with Urban Decay's Indecent blush. All in all, Bleached is really growing on me and I can definitely see using it on a pretty consistent basis. I still don't use Riot and it just sits in my arsenal without love (I've tried it a few more times since my previous review and I still don't like it).I'd definitely recommend Bleached overall, just keep it mind it's a bit more peach than it appears.
