Darn Tough Tactical Over The Calf Light Cushion Sock

Last night I completed the Norwegian Foot March wearing these socks! It was wet out, and the socks stayed snug on my feet, even as water soaked through my boots. 18.6 miles, and I didn’t get any blisters. I call that a win!

This is my second pair of Darn Tough socks. I decided to get the over the calf version to get better leg support for hiking. The compressions helped me during hiking. Material is same as my other crew lengths Darn Tough socks. However, I felt the calf version hold up better and not slip down at all. The crew version generally slip down during hike. Note the down side is I get impression around my leg due to the tighter fit.My tip to maintain elasticity on the socks is avoid drying socks too long (take them out of dryer before fully dry) and store them folded or flat (do not roll socks into a ball that stretches the socks)

I use these as an outer sock over my regular ones when hunting or snowmobiling. I normally use a medium size, and the XL was the perfect fit as an outer sock. I've used Darn Tough socks for years, and with their lifetime guarantee, you can't go wrong.

They may be pricey but they’re 100% worth it. They’re high quality and you just can’t beat them. I bought 3 of them and I've had them for a year and a half and I work 12 hrs and they still look and show very little wear highly recommended

I chose these to keep the sweat off my skin when riding my dual sport wearing Sidi Atojo boots. I think they're not as durable as the thick models that Darn Tough has, since they're starting to flay, but that may be because my boots were not tight enough, they rub at the top of my ankle, low shin, and starting to wear there. They're very comfortable and cool feeling. Other comments state they're overpriced and not warm enough, stating that they're using them for casual wear, not daily use or work. Well that's the point of these socks. They're lightweight, cool, moisure wicking, and comfortable given how thin they are, that's the material at work. Just wish they weren't showing signs of wear after a couple uses, albeit extreme motorcycle riding. I think maybe next time I would try a thicker sock from Darn Tough. I think their ultra cushion models are unbelievable. I used them in trail running shoes, not boots, and I couldn't complain about them being too hot even in hot climate and extreme use.

This company makes the best and most expensive socks but if read the lifetime warranty you understand the price.
