Q: Isn’t the fact these are smoked, mean that they do have more than beef trachea? This is an additive?

Hello Kristi, Thank you for your question. We stopped smoking the trachea a while ago because many customers thought the "smoke" smell was because product was spoiled, which was not the case. We now simply dehydrate the trachea at a low temperature to achieve its crispy texture. We have to apologize for not changing our product pages quick enough to reflect the change, but will very soon. FYI - when we did smoke our trachea it was with real American hickory wood, not a chemical laden imitation smoke flavor. Hi Chris, On average, there are approx. 23 trachea per bag and they are about 4-6 inches each. We sell this by weight because the size of the pieces and quantity can very, but no matter, you are guaranteed 1 pound of USA Beef, USA made, hickory smoked, trachea. It's very high quality with a great smell when you open the bag, slightly crispy so your dog gets a satisfying crunch when they chew. I believe that they are. I don't have the package (I usually get another brand but ran out so I ordered these). I only use US products for my dog.
