Buy the PVC solenoid!
I recommend this solenoid as it is PVC coated to help eliminate any corrosion. I’ve installed two in our boat, the original solenoids were 16 years old. These were easy to install and work exactly as expected. Much better than the non PVC coated units if using in the marine environment. FYI I did return the units to Amazon and purchased locally at a much higher price as Amazon couldn’t deliver these in a timely manner as promised.

HORRIBLE POS
WOW! What a horrible POS. Used it one time and now it’s inoperable. You can’t tighten the studs because they aren’t attached properly. Studs are too short to get more than 1 wire on. BUY SOMETHING ELSE! Because it’s more than 30 days I can’t return it and I’m sure the manufacturer will ignore my emails. STAY AWAY!

Replacement for Golf Cart
Local golf cart supply stores wanted three and four times the price of this solenoid for OEM parts. This one installs easily right in the mounting bracket of the OEM part. Great value as it saved me more than twice what I paid for it. If any more go out, I'll be buying this very part again.

Not Water Resistant (Enough)
The plastic coating is deceiving. The water intrusion threat is through the connectors' threads and mine failed in a freshwater boat application in just one year. Next time I plan to grease the connectors after tightening them I guess. This design is NOT very water resistant and the plastic coating doesn't add much besides higher price when the pressed-on metal lid seal could be RTV'd easily enough. Disappointed to say the least...

Water proof(so far)
Put this on my quad for the winch. If you go through deep water most solenoids will eventually rust inside and stick rendering them useless. You won't know this until you need it. It's been in use for a while now and no malfunctions yet. Had lots of rain this year and the backs woods were very wet for a long time. It has survived many submersions so far.

good deal - cheaper that anywhere else
shipped fairly fast - not the same color as pictured. Most of these are GREY - so don't think you got the wrong one because of color on the outside

Coated; Good for Marine Environment. Works Perfectly.
I purchased this because of the reputation of Cole Hersee and because of the coating that makes it suitable for a marine environment. I redesigned the circuitry for my boat's bilge pump to incorporate this relay to reduce voltage drop. It works perfectly. The smaller diameter upper terminals are a bit short but will accommodate 2 wire ending rings on one stud.
