LaserSmith Ribbon Holder for Ikea Kallax Unit or Freestanding and Stacking

Third piece of kit I’ve bought from this company now and just as brilliant. Quite fiddly to put together but sturdy and practical storage.I don’t bother painting them as they all look good in my Kallax storage units.

It was fiddly to put together...but once glued and clamped..left to dry the finished item works really well. Holds a good amount of ribbon spools, perfect for crafting.

...requires patience - a bit fiddly to assemble getting everything to stay together dry fitted. Once glue applied it was easier to get it all to stay put - make sure the sides and bottom are level before the glue dries! I will have to lightly sand the slot edges as they are a little rough before painting - I bought a clear MDF primer and some nice chalk paint to match other storage.

Whilst the product does the job admirably do not buy if you have less hands than an octopus has tentacles - or you live alone with no extra help at hand. Making this thing will test year any marriage, it's simple in design, does not test the wit of man, and is very straight forward in theory but a nightmare to assemble with just two hands. Off the scale frustration levels.

Ordered as I needed somewhere to store my ribbons, goes together well and is very sturdy. Asked the seller a question re paint and had a very informative response very quickly from them. Definitely remember the ribbon storage holder and the seller.

I’ve put much more complicated flat packs together without any problem. This product is a joke, after trying to keep them all in place each and every part fell apart, spent way too much time trying to get it to stay in the holes, even tried gluing and the back part didn’t stay together… it’s now in the bin .. not happy at all 😡

When this arrived I was really surprised at it being flat packed. But clear instructions on assembly are given inside. I wasn’t expecting to be needing wood glue so I panicked thinking how can I get some asap as it needed to be up and wrapped for a present. After googling wood glue… my good old pva glue from my craft room fit the bill. I did assemble this on my own and I found it worked better for me kitchen worktop height rather than the floor which I tried first. The sturdiness of the worktop is needed. I am so delighted with this product. It is sturdy and serves it’s purpose very well. I’m using it for ribbons and bias bindings. And I imagine my friend will do the same with the one I’ve bought her. I love how I could put this together myself. Only just reading other reviews people have written needs two people. It definitely does not. I’m a 50 ish year old lady and I managed perfectly fine 😊 for the price I think these are absolutely fantastic as things for craft room usually do not come cheap. Thank you very much

I liked this product until I tried to.put it in my IKEA Kallax and found you can't use the top rack!! Turns out to be a wasted purchase.
