Yes! We have put this in the trunk of a Prius, focus and Tesla with lots of space to spare.

As someone who runs into this matter every time I fly these are the rules for wheelchairs:

1) Your chair will be thoroughly checked out by TSA before you board. And I mean inside out, upside down (just once) and inside the battery case of the TSA agent isn't feeling rushed. Leave extra time before your flight in case of unexpected delays.

2) Once I am seated the attendant removes my chair & it's put into cargo for the flight. I always make sure my full contact information is written on the chair in indelible marker.  I also make sure it's tagged with the correct itinerary so it arrives at the same airport. (Once it had a more interesting trip than I did :)   I also have my I.D. on the key fob in case it gets separated, plus I carry a duplicate key with me in case the original gets lost or misplaced. (Which has happened before.)

Ensure your batteries are fresh, fully charged & the connections are clean.  Bring along your charger and if going out of the country a power adapter. Don't carry anything other than your carry-on bag as you're still subject to the rules just like other passengers. The only exception is I take a quantity of medication  & bring a supply for the entire stay plus 1week (in case of delays or problems)   I check with the airline 2 wks prior to departure  for their current rules & ALWAYS get the name & employee i.d f the person who approved the extra case. This is stored in the overhead compartment or, on occasion the flight attendant puts it into another storage onboard.

Of course, don't leave anything in the basket or on the chair as  you'll end up paying to ship them as excess baggage. If you want to bring your own drinks have them (mostly) frozen. These can come aboard regardless of size but must be in a see-through bottle. I usually bring a large smoothie that's 90% ice & sip on it the whole trip. If it's too solid the attendant will pop it into the microwave fr a minute to speed things up.

Do they accept medicare

If it is medically necessary to get around inside of your house, Medicare might help. They are very strict probably in light of the one company a few years back. I believe it was The Scooter Store from TV touting they could get a scooter for most people and there was fraud.
