Must have!
A must have for Nintendo! I love playing retro games and the D pad is perfect for this reason! Feels nice and is my preferred controller for applicable games.

The best fighting pad controller for Nintendo Switch
I don't like power A products. The analog sticks are very faulty on power A products. This controller on the other hand has been the best controller I have used for them. It mimics the Sega saturn and Sega genesis 6 botton controllers. It works amazingly for fighting games and retro gaming. A must buy.

best currently available six button pad, but concerned about longevity
i went on a truly sad controller-buying spree over the past few weeks trying to find the perfect 2D pad for my personal biz, and so far this is the best i've found.-the Sega style floating d-pad isn't quite as nice as the Saturn clones Retro-Bit makes, but it's almost as good and that means a solid 9/10.-the buttons are convex, uniformly sized, and easy to handle. i kinda hate the ultra-slippery plastic chosen for them, but considering how many mainstream official controllers use those i can forgive it.-the shape is a tiny bit too big for my non-gorilla hands to be entirely comfortable with, but it's not actually bad, just not quite perfect for me.is there a bunch of stuff i wish this controller did better? yeah, especially for the MSRP of $50; even excusing the lack of wireless, joysticks and rumble so common with fight pads - the fact that the rightmost buttons are just mirrored shoulder buttons insteda of actual unique buttons in Windows is a huge bummer, mechanical buttons and/or d-pad would be fantastic, better plastic for the buttons and d-pad would be a real improvement, and generally, going by the reviews, it seems there's serious issues with longevity.but it feels a lot better to use than anything else i've been able to get my hands on, so until something comes along with most of that wishlist fulfilled, this is what i'll be using for 99% of the 2D stuff i play. now if i could only find a Wii U layout controller with four back paddles for 3D games...EDIT: okay i found one, crkd makes a goofy switch controller with that layout and it's far from ideal but it does exist in case you're wondering

Feels and Plays like a classic.
I love this controller. It definitely reminded me of the old school Sega Saturn controllers and I'm glad Nintendo went with this design. The D-Pad felt so smooth. The button layout was comfortable. I had no trouble performing combo moves. Great controller if you wanna expand your fighting skills to the test.

Poor Quality, False Advertising and probably the worst return on investment I’ve ever had
Received on May 6th and it seemed pretty great. Used it exclusively for guilty gear on switch with some issues here and there but seemed awesome overall until tonight when suddenly my down inputs weren’t registering. After looking at it I realized it was just completely tilted wrong and after investigating I found the lifted dpad is supported on extremely thin plastic cross that snapped on the bottom. A little less than 4 months of use was not worth a $60 investment. I’m devastated and so frustrated that I believed that extra cost would be worth it for the quality that apparently was never there. I was even willing to ignore the fact that the clearly advertised ability to be able to do GameCube c stick inputs in smash ultimate was actually never possible as it doesn’t work with the way the inputs are read. Even though that was advertised everywhere and is the instruction manual that comes with the controller. If I could go back in time I would’ve saved money and bought pretty much any of the many cheaper pads that are available and saved myself the money and disappointment.

Best FIGHTPAD you can buy right now
These kinds of pads are made with arcade style fighting games in mind. If you're playing one of those, this is the best pad you can buy right now. The buttons and d-pad are both comfortably stiff. I've had NO accidental directional flubs (IE Pushing down but getting other directions with it). The USB cable is well made and is the absolute best thing about the design. Please understand that this is a DPAD, not an analogue stick. It's not made for games like Smash where you need analog sticks. It does however let you change the dpad to Left Stick so games like Link's Awakening where a D-pad would feel really good but you're forced to use the Left Stick greatly benefit from this controller. It also has the bonus of working with PC out of the box. And on top of that, it works with Undamned Decoders. Great buy.Edit: Should note this review is for the SWITCH version of the pad

Solid Controller with Questionable Quality
I bought this controller in April 2020 to use for fighting games exclusively. I used it with Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, King of Fighters titles and honestly, it handles beautifully in my hands. I have large hands and the shape and fit of the D pad made it very easy to do precise movements in every game I played, especially fast paced anime fighters like Guilty Gear. However, I'm beginning to doubt the quality the description claims to tout. For the first issue, the USB cable broke at the locking mechanism that connects to the controller, through no misuse on my end. This must have been 6 months after purchase. It was still under warranty, so PowerA graciously sent me a replacement after I sent proof. But then yesterday, after just under 2 years of ownership, the D-Pad broke off as seen in the pictures attached. I was just playing normally, and it just fell off. Disappointing, to say the least. I am a heavy user, so perhaps I am an extreme case but when the company claims a quality build for their product, I expect that. Fortunately, I still have the spare controller they sent from my first replacement so no harm, no foul but I will be a little more aware of these issues that have reared their ugly heads. I'll hope that the first controller I bought was just an outlier, and if the second one performs up to snuff, I will change my review accordingly. Until then 3/5 stars: Very good controller when it works but the build may not hold up under heavy use.Hope this helps!
