I was recently diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease, and I'm easily off-balance. I grabbed the prior towel rack more than once, and sooner or later it would have failed. Now I don't have to worry. Very sturdy, will hold my whole weight, stylish.One flange I screwed directly into a stud, the other end I used the supplied mount. I'm well equipped to do this type of install, but I did have to buy a 1-1/4" diameter hole saw. No one will every know this is a grab bar! Too elegant!
LOVE LOVE LOVE - and it does NOT look like a "grab bar"! We are at that "age" where our large shower started looking like the perfect spot for a fall. There was no bar or area where you could assist/balance yourself when raising a foot to scrub it, or shaving your legs. All the other ones I looked at were so ugly - and SCREAMED! -- Warning, elderly person lives here! NOT so with this one! The design is sleek with details on the end, and the thin lower "bar" is just perfect for handing your wash cloth; AND if you buy "S" hooks (I purchased mine here) which are Stainless Steel, they fit perfectly on the ends of the grab bar for hanging your back brush, and mesh scrubby! (I added them also to edges/ends of think towel bar to hand other shower items with chords). We love it and it looks very elegant in our shower, plus if we DID need the full support, it provides that as well! BUY IT! No one will know it's a grab bar!!!

Very sturdy
I am using this as a towel rod in the kids bathroom. My kids have pulled down two other towel rods before this one. The unit I ordered came with one Securemount bracket, so I installed it into one stud and the other side into the drywall with the Securemount. Very happy with this setup.

Better than expected, Good as I hoped.
I wanted a grab bar / towel holder to replace towel holder that was falling off constantly.The installation was fairly easy (about 30min) probably because I studied it.The bar looks good and most importantly it can support all the weight I need it to.Originally, I was little worried that 1 side screws to stud and other via anchor (1 anchor included) would not support, but after testing it few times, I am a believer.Just make sure to purchase a 1-1/4 hole drill if you can not have studs on both sides.

Good vendor, no problems.
Very strong bar. Didn't match our other bathroom fixtures as well as I would have liked, but that style of matching fixtures from Pfizer didn't have a towel rack rated for handicap safety. Shipping/condition, etc. were great.

Excellent Dual Purpose Grab Rail
We absolutely love this grab rail. Ours, like many, only had one stud behind it on one side and just sheetrock on the other side. It came with a VERY FLIMSY vinyl backing that they suggested to use or a more expensive metal brace that could be purchased. I took a piece of 1x4x18 board and slid it through a 2x4 hole I put in the wall. I used the Gorilla Wood Glue I purchased at the same time over the entire length of the board and on the end that butted against the stud that the shower door was fastened to (using screws to hold it until the glue dried). I put 12" of the wood above the railing and 6" below. Then I cut a circle of wood the thickness of the sheetrock to glue and screw behind the fastener plate. The 1x4 gave a surface to glue the plug I cut to put it through back in place. I then used the sheetrock mud that I purchased at the same time and filled the holes, using a heavy sheet of paper to form a surface like the surface of the sheetrock. Once smooth, I painted using the leftover paint from when the bathroom was originally painted to repaint the wall section. Installation was easy. With the bar in place on the bar, install two of the screws in the base plate part way and mark the others. Remove the rail, finish installing the back plates using the furnished screws, put the covers in place, install the rail and tighten the set screws, and snap the covers in place. The 1" rail is plenty large to hold a large man (I gave it the "acid test" and used it to pull myself off the floor with the bar holding all of my weight - no problem). Having the small bar below is great safety feature because it allows the towel to be out of the way where it would make it slippery if the wet towel was on the grab rail. Glad we purchased it. My husband is handicapped and it makes our shower much safer.

We purchased awhile back but finally finished bathroom and we like it very much, it’s stylish and strong yet doesn’t stand out as a secure Safety bar as well.
