Works out of the box with my PowerBook 3400c
I wanted to get files on and off my PowerBook 3400c, and didn't want to deal with massive SCSI connectors using the proprietary port Apple has on the thing. This lets me pop a CF card in, and I can pull out that card and plug it into my modern Mac with my old CF card reader from the 90s. Works great, fits great.

Universally works
I don't exactly know why but this works in just about anything it can fit into, even a Sandisk flash storage card won't work on a few things. That being said, it is well worth buying if you have older computers because you'll know it should just work.

Didn't Work For My Purpose
I rated this item 4 stars for the quality and shipping. It didn't work for my embroidery purposes - tried to transfer embroidery designs from computer to machine. My XP computer died and I had to start all over again - new software etc.I eventually was able to reconnect my transfer program to my machine after setting up everything. So I didn't need this product after all. It wouldn't work anyway. Probably not the products fault - things just change in the tech world very often.Therefore, I cannot honestly say what benefit it will be to anyone else.

Pcmcia on Fanuc Cnc mills working great
These CF to PCMCIA adapters work great on our Fanuc Cnc controls. Purchased with 1GB cards and were plug and play with getting programs onto our CnC mills.
