Brilliant book. I use it with my students who don’t want to learn classically or do exams. It still gives theory and keeps up reading music but gives patterns and skills for playing off chord sheets. I tend to get them to do the exercises and then think what particular patterns they like a then play them over a 4 chord sequence. It’s super helpful to guide them into exploring and discovering their own style of playing. The pieces based on scale studies are so beautiful and they feel like they’re playing super impressive pieces of music that are really quite simple to pick up because they’re so familiar with the scales already.

This is a fantastic book. Bought for a bit of fun to get my playing back to where I would like it to be and that meant revisiting some scales - groan - however, this book has taken the bordom out of it all. It came and I spent the whole evening playing through it. Not just once, not twice, but many times. It really helped, using many techniques to get those scales and chords back into my head. One small part of each chapter required a bit of imagination (they are meant for pupil and teacher) but its easily workable with if you do the exercise as two individual ones.This is a fun way to get scales, chords and triads into your head. I wish I had this when I was learning as a child.

I am a classically trained piano teacher and have sometimes found it difficult to find books for my pupils who prefer to play pop (so many tricky rhythms in pop music!). I think this will be really great. I think I will offer it to all my pupils as its great for getting to know scales and chord patterns in a fun way, and also makes improvisation accessible for those who find it scary.

Love all of Wunderkeys music books and this book is great for teaching tweens and teens. I currently have a teen student working on this book, and she is progressing beautifully. I'm excited to have more students progress to this book. A performance book is also available with inspiring piano solos.

Very good content -excellent. I don't care for the graphics, though, (the faces! I don't mind the piano on the cover) and I'd use it more if they were taken out

This is a fantastic book to supplement technical work, the students enjoy the mature sounding harmonies that support their understanding of the key. It’s also helped me in planning a more interesting way to reinforce these keys. It’s also great sight reading practice for the more advanced kids. I’m looking forward to book 2!

Copy received was badly printed - cheap paper, fuzzy text, even a page bound upside down. Could be a good book so it's a shame these guys don't go with a proper publisher.
