It took 1min, 24sec to go from zero to setting 25. It took an additional 30sec to add on that extra turbo heat. This iron gets VERY hot!! Care must be taken during of use as one could burn easily. All of those warnings said, this is a great iron to have. My hair stays curled longer. The balancing clip seems sturdy and is easy to position. The iron clip holds hair nicely. This curling iron heats up very quickly. I've tried the ceramic and the curls fall out within an hour. I had this one in 3/4 inch (someone gave it to me) and thought I'd try it out this week. I wondered if my curls always loosen, what would happen if I started with tighter curls? I'm shocked that my curls have stayed all day with no products. All day tight curls! Mine is about 20 years old but since the barrel was so small, I thought the curls would be too tight so I never used it all these years! My 1 inch is another brand (also 20 years) and has worked best but doesn't hold a curl as well as this so I'm going to try the 1 inch version of this. My hair needs really high heat to hold a curl and ceramic was worthless. If you don't use the clip, you can use it like a wand.
