A very very nice guitar!
I ordered this while I was on travel for business, just to have a beater instrument to play in the evenings. I've played guitar for several decades and have a nice stable of instruments at home. I have other Donner guitar-related products (pedals etc.) at home and have always been happy with their gear. It's decent quality gear at a good price. This "beginner kit" seemed like it would fit my needs - it has not only the guitar, but bag, strap, capo, picks, tuner, spare strings, allen wrench for adjusting neck relief, and polishing cloth. The guitar is very very nice! Best I can tell, the top is not laminate, but is solid wood (specs say it's sitka spruce, and I could believe that). Sides and back may be laminate, but I don't think so. Fit and finish on the joinery and inner bracing look really good. Fret ends are nicely smooth and polished. The guitar was nicely packed and padded and was in great shape when I unboxed it. Strings were fairly slack (which is how a guitar is supposed to be shipped). I tuned it up and stretched the strings and the tuning has been rock-solid ever since, going on 36 hours of ownership, now. The neck relief needed a little bit of adjustment. The nut slots had the strings sitting a little high off the first fret, not terribly surprising given that it's a $150 mass produced guitar, but not at all a dealbreaker, either. The bridge is compensated and sits a little high, lending a slightly high action for the instrument. When I go to change the strings, it's easy enough to pull out the bridge and sand it down on the underside to lower the action by about half a millimeter...that's a 20 minute job.And...it sounds and plays really really well. It sounds like a dreadnought! Plenty of low end, projecting midrange, easy fretting with no buzzing. This instrument is a steal for what I paid for it.The extra bits are hit or miss, generally OK.- gig bag is not very padded, but it covers the instrument and provides some protection.- strap, picks, polishing cloth are nothing special - they get you up and running as soon as you unbox, but you'll probably want to get better picks and strap.- I can't comment on the extra strings; I haven't used them yet. They're 11-gauge (light acoustic). I'm sure they're fine, I assume they're the same ones that came on the guitar, which are perfectly serviceable.- the tuner was non-functional, but it wasn't a big deal...I have a tuner app on my phone...so no big lossOverall, five stars for the guitar. The guitar, and the overall kit, is perfect for a beginner...or really any player. I consider myself an advanced player and I just wanted an inexpensive instrument to play while on business travel. I wasn't expecting boutique quality; but this is a very playable instrument that's a steal for what I paid for it.If I had a suggestion, maybe it would be to leave out some of the extra bits (tuner, strings, strap) and upgrade the gig bag.

Held up for a year now.
The media could not be loaded. So, I have had this for a year at the time of this review. I bought this to try out my acoustic skills. I have since reverted to be an adolescent again and customized it.. (last pic) i have an electric guitar, but this is my first acoustic. I bought inexpensive in case it wasn't for me, but from a name brand.. The action was decent out of the box (playable). I believe I adjusted the trust rod to get it a bit lower. This is a bright sounding guitar and is very light in weight. The gig bag is pretty good, actually. It's a great value for what you get. It's a great beginner rig. Stays in tune pretty well. Looks good also. Full-size cutaway guitar. If you're a beginner, you should probably change the strings out for some 10s or a lighter string than 12 gauge. Your fingers will thank me later. Bottom line.. It's worth having.

The right choice.
Music is the most valuable part of our existence and I embrace the opportunity to open up a wonderful world for a very intelligent young mind a positive growing child.

Good quality for the $
Very nice for the price. Great tone, and you don’t have to treat it with Kidd gloves.

Great Guitar for Beginners!
I got this on an Amazon flash sale and honestly, I think they made a mistake. Great buy.

Great guitar for the price.
I am very happy with this purchase. I play bass guitar, piano, and drums for over 35 years. I always wanted to try and learn guitar. The app for learning to play is great. I recommend this to anyone. I did my research and feel I made a good decision. I also purchased the Amazon guitar stand and it works great.

Not for small hands
My husband REALLY likes this guitar. The strings needed tune when he got it, and the tuner broke within a day (very cheap). My husband didn't do enough research as far as what kind of guitar to buy for beginners, with small hands. Yes his hands will eventually be long enough once they learn how to stretch across the neck, but as a beginner, its hard to learn with such a wide neck. Unfortunately, he is returning this guitar. If you have bigger hands, this should work great for you! The sound is nice, strings are decent. And its a good price if you're starting to dabble in guitar.

It appears to be well made for the price
The fit and finish on the guitar was really nice. I just couldn’t get it to tune. I use their tuner couldn’t get it to work. I used another tuner couldn’t get it to work. I used their tuner on another guitar and it worked fine some of the other reviews said it could be just bad strings, but I wasn’t gonna buy a new guitar and have to replace the strings right away if the the guitar would have tuned, I would’ve kept it for the value and the price. It’s very nice.
