HohnerBravo Piano Accordion, 72 Bass, Red

I play piano but I've never touched accordion before and wanted to try for a long time. Since I don't know much about accordions, I won't be able to comment on its quality compared to other accordions, but I can share my experience as a person who started learning it and who picked this 72 bass Hohner as the first accordion.If you are in a search for an accordion like myself a month ago, you probably noticed that the offline music stores are happy to sell you one for a few thousand dollars which was definitely above my budget for just a hobby amateur playing.I believe it's safe to assume you're not a professional accordion player, otherwise you would've been standing in line for the $10k accordion in one of the above mentioned offline music stores. Nether am I, so I started looking for something playable but cheaper here on Amazon.The cheapest option on Amazon is Hohnica but if you read the reviews, you feel it's a bit of a lottery. So the Hohner (this one) would be the next step, twice as expensive as Hohnica, but... almost no reviews, which left me wondering if I'm getting a good enough instrument or not.Apparently, it's good enough, at least for me. No technical problems, all buttons and keys work, great sound - I have never tried playing any $10k accordion, but this one just works for my current level (which, I must say, is pretty beginner at this time).There are some options in terms of the number of bass buttons. The Honher website has a fingering chart: https://www.hohner.de/fileadmin/documents/instruments/accordions/chromatic/bravo/bravo-ii-48/hohner-accordions-bravo-ii-48-fingering-chart.pdf and it shows that you only get all 12 bass notes in the left hand starting from 72 buttons; if you choose 48, you don't get Db, Ab, B, and F#, and believe me, I can live without Db, Ab, and F#, but B is pretty useful when you play songs in Am key (many melodies use B major - which is the dominant for E major - in transitions like Am - Dm - B - E - Am, not just Am - Dm - E - Am), so I was not going to lose my B major chord! So, for me 72 was the first acceptable option so I went with it. Above 72, the basses start repeating, and while I understand it might be important for pro players, I feel 72 is just enough for me at this time.It comes well packed with straps detached, and it took me some YouTube to figure out the way to attach them properly. Other than that, no complaints so far, I'm pretty happy and play some melodies veeery sloooowly for now, while my brain is making the Stradella bass system calculations - I expect it will finally get wired into me, but not just yet, so F - C - G - D - A - E - B, the circle of fifth, you keep going up and down. Three fundamental bass buttons: Ab, C, and E - are marked.Weight wise, again, no idea how heavy the expensive accordions might be, but this one does not feel too heavy to me. When in a bag (it comes with a nice bag, backpack style), it feels about the same as your regular backpack if you put an extra laptop and a bunch of chargers in it.Summarizing - for me it was a great purchase, fit my budget, got a lot of positive emotions learning to play this thing, and no technical problems so far after one month of occasional playing. I'll come back here if anything bad happens.

Great seller to do business with. I love this accordion! I wanted a lightweight instrument that offered as many playing options as possible without being so heavy it would wear me out. This was the right choice for a 70 year woman in decent physical shape. A heavier model would have been a big mistake. The sound is good. Thank you so much for making me smile!!

The Bravo piano accordion is the best I've ever played...wonderful tone and lightweight. The packaging was great....it arrived in great shape and I am over the moon happy with this instrument. Roll out the barrel!
