Hi, I recommend the large regular. I have a tall and very good jumping yorkipoo who also jumped over the iris 4 panel pen. She has not been able to jump out of this one. Of course if your dog is fearless maybe the tall. If you get the tall it will be harder to clean it bending over the pen. It is a real pen with a flexible bottom and four sides or panels if you will. I suggest that you get the biggest size you can for your dog so they have as much room as possible.

Q: Can you take the side and combine with a second crate to create a longer crate?

Hi, No, you cannot take the sides and combine to make a longer crate. The sides are pinned into place at the top and the pan only fits the one crate. If you have the money, I recommend looking at pet crate furniture which you can get on other furniture sites. I have seen some beautiful ones for indoors that are pretty long and can house more than one dog if necessary.
