Mage Knight: Ultimate Edition Board Game - 1-5 Players Age 14+

Complex, but one of the very best solo games ever made. Watch some how to play videos (Paul Grogan is a good starting point) and you will have a game that both challenges and entertains you for many years to come. Not for the faint-hearted but worth the effort to learn.

Really good game, shines in solo or 2 player game. Requires a lot of thinking, each play takes a few hours. I think the designer has made an amazing job, this game has had a lot of influence on the design of other games. Recommended for people who like complexity and difficult but rewarding experiences. Not recommended for 3+ people

The many moving parts fit together beautifully and make you feel oh so smart when you succeed at using them. The insert isn't the best though, I replaced it with a 3rd party custom one

I love playing Mage Knight solo. There is so much to do and it never gets boring. Ricky Royale's video series on YouTube made it easy to learn. The only downside is it takes up a lot of table space, but well worth it!

Great game for solo and for groups

Engaging deck builder for the solo player appreciating a head-scratcher or for the very patient competitive or co-op player.

This game is Epic in every sense; Box size, Table presence, Scope, Complexity, Adventure and Value, to name just a few. It merges so many different modern game mechanics into a fantastically cohesive theme that it is no wonder that this is the game that so many solo board gamers strive to master. That said it's not going to be for everyone. There is no denying that it is a long and intense game, designed for experienced gamers who love the challenge and immersion that it offers, so if you're a more casual gamer looking for a relaxing evening with friends, maybe give it a miss. "This is a pretty much a solo only game"!! I'm a pretty serious gamer, who enjoys heavy euros and I wouldn't dream of playing this any way other than solo. That said, for the right group, who enjoy a 4-6 hour game and don't mind some downtime between turns I'm sure it could work. If you do go for this, know what you're getting yourself into, watch the Ricky Royal and Beyond Solitaire videos on YouTube and you'll slaying Draconum, burning Monestaries and conquering Cities in no time. !! ENJOY !!

I recently purchased this game and trust me it is a FANTASTIC game- so much content and so much fun! I play solo and I must have racked up 15+ plays within 2 months and feel like I am barely scratching the surface. Also because it’s the Ultimate Edition it includes the expansions which add even more variety and fantastic new play styles. There’s also tonnes of fan made content/scenarios/campaigns online via BoardGameGeek which make it go even further. Be warned it is very complicated (allow 4 hours plus to read the rules and play your first game) and you need a lot of table space, and if you’re looking for a campaign/continuous story with lots of interactions ie D&D then you may be disappointed (Mage Knight is a deck builder/puzzler at heart)

I am a newbie of RPG, and have been heard that Mage Knight is an awesome game! Love this game. It's a long game, but fun. This version has all the expansion with it! And I got it with a great deal! Unfortunately, just another minor damage from Amazon delivery. Yet, I'm not gonna return this , since I will never got a great deal like this time. The 5 stars is for the game, and -5 star for Amazon delivery company.

BGGのソロゲームランキングで、長い間圧倒的トップだった伝説級ゲーム。 元々は1～4人用だけど、1人がベスト、2人もOK、3人以上は微妙という感じで、 やはりソロプレイ向きのゲームという印象が強い作品です。 日本語版がないせいでプレイのハードルが上がってしまってますが、 相当面白いゲームなのは間違いありません。 内容は、異世界アトランティスに派遣された魔導騎士（メイジナイト）になって、 世界を探索、最終的に首都（シティ）を攻略するというものです。 1枚ずつマップタイルをめくって世界を探索していくワクワク感や、 新しい呪文やアーティファクトを手に入れて強くなっていくRPG的成長、 局面に合わせて手札をうまく組み合わせて乗り切っていくパズル的な要素、 最終的なシティ攻略を見据えてターンを組み立てていく戦略性など、 色々な要素が複雑に絡み合っていて、プレイヤーを飽きさせません。 ●戦略性の高さ 最終目標であるシティ攻略がかなり難易度が高く、計画的に行動しないと たどり着いても全く歯が立たないということになります。 そうそう簡単にはクリアできないので、何度も挑戦する楽しさが有り、 クリアできた時の達成感もとても大きいです。 シティのレベルを変えたり、難しい地形タイルを抜いたりして、難易度調整が出来ます。 「難しすぎてつまらない！」とはなりにくいのがいい点です。 ●コンポーネントのデザイン性 カードデザインが素晴らしい！ ファンタジー系のカードゲームはこうでなくちゃ！ プレイ感も印象に残るカードがいろいろあります。 特にアーティファクトは強烈なパワーを秘めたものが多くて、 プレイしていて感動するほどのインパクトがありました。 ヘックス型のマップタイルもすごく好きです。 ヒーローやシティのフィギュアも、雰囲気を盛り上げてくれます。 モンスタートークンのデザインだけがちょっと不満です。 （なんだかショボいです） ●リプレイ性が非常に高い マップタイルの組み合わせだけでもけっこうあるので、 やるたびにどんなマップになるのか予想できません。 使用するタイルの組み合わせを変えたり、タイルの向きをランダムにする ヴァリアントを取り入れたりすると、本当に多種多様なマップが出来上がります。 カード類も種類が多く、何回プレイしてもまだ知らないカードがあります。 毎回使うお馴染みのカードと、めったに手に入らないレアカードがある感じです。 特にアーティファクトカードはなかなか手に入らないので、 「何とか手に入れたい！」といつも思いながらプレイしています。 プレイ可能なヒーローは7人。 ユニークカードはそれぞれ2枚ずつと少ないですが、 スキル（1人につき11種）が全く違うので、プレイ感がかなり違います。 1人用基本シナリオ「ソロコンクエスト」だけでも相当遊べますが、 他にもいろいろなシナリオがあります。 ルールブックに載っている多人数用シナリオをソロ用に変更した ソロ向けのシナリオ集がネット上にあります。 「一生遊べるゲーム」と言っても過言ではありません。 ●言語依存はやっぱり高い まずルールの把握に英語力がある程度必要になります。 メインのルールはネット上に有志の翻訳がありますが、 プレイスルーやエキスパンションのルールブックは翻訳がありません。 有志の翻訳も分かりにくい部分があって、結局はある程度 英語の原文を読まないと理解できないということになると思います。 カード類も当然すべて英語です。 ただ、カードテキストの英語はパターンがあるので、 慣れればそれほど難しくはありません。 自動翻訳アプリなどもあるので、そこまで恐れなくて大丈夫です。 ただし、英語がまるっきり駄目という人は注意してください。 ある程度は英語が読めないと厳しいと思います。 ●ルールはやや複雑 基本的には分かりやすいルールなのですが、 細かい煩雑なルールが多くて、これがプレイするときの障害になります。 一通りルールを理解するのにまず苦労する、 理解した後でもプレイするたびに忘れる、間違える…という感じです。 やるべき処理を忘れた（間違った）ままゲームを進めてしまうと、 仮に勝ったとしてもあまり喜べなくなってしまうので… こればっかりは慣れるしかないのでしょう。 ●場所を取ります コンポーネントが多いので、やはりこの問題は大きいです。 プレイ時はもちろんですが、箱もやたらと大きい。 できたらもう少し小さい箱にコンパクトにまとめたいところです。 これだけの有名ゲームなのに、日本でいまいちもあり上がらないのは やはり言語の問題が一番大きいんでしょう。 個人的に、こういうファンタジー系のゲームには、 日本語テキストよりも英語テキストの方が好きなんですけどね。 MTGなんかもそうだったけど、 カード名は日本語よりも英語の方が断然カッコいいですし。 興味あるけど手が出せないでいる人がいたら、 ぜひお勧めしたいゲームです。 僕が日本のアマゾンで買ったときは約2万円でしたが、 今はさらに値上がっているようです。 米アマゾンから買った方が、安く買えると思います。

ich habe das Brettspiel in einer sehr schlechten Qualiltät erhalten. Die Originalverpackung ist an allen Ecken eingerissen und die Kunststoffmaterialaufnahme ist beschädigt. Das Material, das nicht eingeschweißt war, musste erst gereinigt werden. - Das war das teuerste Brettspiel, das ich mir bisher gekauft habe und dann in so einem Zustand - sehr enttätuschend. Ich habe es nur deshalb nicht zurückgeschickt, weil ich schon sehnsüchtig darauf gewartet habe und unbedingt mit meiner Familie gleich spielen wollte. Eine Entschädigung (zum Beispiel Kartensatz in Deutsch) wäre zumindest ein freundliches Entgegenkommen.

El juego llegó completo sin piezas faltantes, los componentes llegaron en buen estado. El único detalle fue un leve golpe en una de las esquinas de la caja, pero pues nada grave. El juego en si una chulada, llevaba años queriendo comprarmelo y al fin se dio la oportunidad. Un juego bastante denso que requiere mucho compromiso por parte del jugador para aprender a dominar el sistema.
