Will it grind chicken bones for making cat food?

No I don't think you want to try grinding bones less you want a big mess on your hands....I ground small 1" peaces of just meat and it was a big job pushing the meat down the feed hole it kept pushing the meat back up and out all over the counter....You should look at better electric unit to grind bones.........LEM makes a good unit but expect to pay 200 at least........

I need to find out 3 things on this product. 1/2 How big is the opening on the wing nut and flange tube? 3. Where is it made?

Gap to attach to counter top or table is about 1 1/2 inch. Not sure where made. Probably China. Gave it as a gift. Works pretty good. Buy more expensive one, you will be happier.

Is this dish washer safe?

Yes, it is dishwasher safe. It is also a poorly made, misfitting, leaky piece of junk. At least mine was. I threw it in the scrap heap and bought an old one from the antique store for less money.

What size is the auger shaft on this grind I want to convert to electric

The shaft was very small. The material rusted minutes after I rinced it it was returned.
