Hammerite Direct to Rust Satin Metal Paint - White - 250ML

This paint is great for outdoor metal work, expensive but does the job

covers well, goes on smoothly.

Used this to paint a steel beam which I'd wiped down with water and vinegar to get the excess grime off with. It covers really well and rust wasn't able to come through. After about a week I noticed the bright whiteness of it began to turn creamy/yellow. So I went over it with a water-based white gloss paint and the colour has been fine since. I could see whereever the water-based paint directly touched the steel rust would quickly form so it's crucial to use this Hammerite/an oil-based paint first and follow it with a water-based paint if it begins to yelow

It’s good paint. Used to paint a garage door that had seen better days and one coat did the job. Should have enough left over to tackle a rusty radiator.

I have used this item before and perfect for my work. I read a review that said this product drips so much. This is not a Non-drip product so the buyer should know what he/she purchase. of our friends, a carpenter by profession, used this product in all colours for his wood workings and I found that he has done a good job. Having seen the success I used it on the stairway railing for nearly four years no discolouration or any damage to the paint. So I am going to use this on downstairs skirtings etc. This is a very good price too compared with the high street Superstore prices.
