A Solid, Fine Camera for Great Value
I'm a documentary and conceptual photographer, and I settled with the Sony Alpha a6400 with the 18-135mm kit lens because the bundle is what I could afford. I prefer to use the rangefinder on the Alpha a6400 because of the sophisticated tracking and overall firmness of the composition. The viewfinder on this camera just generally feels much more accurate to what I am trying to achieve, as opposed to the screen view. To be honest, I had very low expectations for the 18-135mm lens because most professional photographers consider buying a kit lens to be a big no-no. However, this $400 lens proves to be competent enough for what I am trying to achieve, at least for now. I think in the right hands, the Sony Alpha a6400 can perform extremely well, even with the 18-135mm kit lens. Going forward, I will most likely upgrade the lens in the long term. The camera was actually slightly bigger and heavier than I thought. Based on reviews and what I read on the internet, people have been going on about how small and light the camera is. With the 18-135mm lens and the camera body, the camera is not heavy, but rather feels firm. The a6400 doesn't feel so light and flimsy to the point of the camera falling out of your hands if you slightly lose grip. The camera is small enough for travel, but large and heavy enough for firmness and stability. Perfect balance. Great travel camera. I have been using budget cameras for my entire artistic career, so this is my first 'real camera'. The Sony Alpha A6400 is definitely more than worth what you pay for in the quality you receive back. I have attached sample photos to this review. These photographs are completely unedited and straight out of the camera, which is how I do all of my photo work. I have taken the Sony Alpha a6400 on trips to capture aquatic life for my documentary photography. The lightning-fast auto focus and stabilizing lens leaves me seldom taking a blurry shot. Perfect for aquatic documentary photography. Images are very clear when you zoom in, there is very little noise or pixelation in the photos with this camera. I like 'Sony color', as people refer to as, the tones feel realistic and cool. The Sony Alpha a6400 also performs very well in low light, which was something my budget cameras simply could not handle. The low light issue and noise from my budget cameras was the reason I decided to get the Sony Alpha a6400. This camera has the capabilities to achieve what you want and need to accomplish, provided the photographer has a vivid imagination.

Exceptional camera.
Exceptional camera. Menu system not as bad as reviews said. Does not get hot at all after a 2.5hr non-stop video at 1080p using dummy battery. Does get quite warm, in a 72deg room, when recording at 4k, but not hot. Internal mics are mediocre, but added shotgun mic and audio is excellent. This is the water-resistant AL-magnesium version, a step up from a6100; worth added expense for magnesium housing and water resistance for protection on a rainy day. Bought with 19-135 lens, pics are excellent. Only flaw is why the camera cannot output h.264 video over USB or the WiFi? Instead have to buy a hokey (price gouged) HDMI "capture" card; HDMI is already digital. Sony has h.264 compression in the a6400. It is used on videos recorded to the SD card. The new a7 will have h.265 lossless compression; too bad they were not on the ball and did not put this in the a6400. h.264 compression is several years old! UPDATE: After a year and a half, all I can say is fantastic! I am nearsighted and the red focus assist negates the need to wear glasses or use the viewfinder's built-in diopter adjuster. I use this cam with a Laowa 9mm rectilinear lens (manual focus) for indoor pics, and the articulated screen is great for this. It allows the camera to work like a Hassalblad; holding the camera low to get the angle right (so vertical lines are parallel). One can hold the camera at waist height and tilt the screen up. With the 35-135 kit zoom, the auto-focus is excellent. With the SEL200600G, works great, but the big zoom does use up the battery, so keep a spare. Another wow factor is the digital-zoom-in-while-focusing (C1 button in still pic mode). This allows viewing the image zoomed in to get the focus perfect. Water rest mag case is the way to go too. I never worry about being out in the rain with this camera (but I do make an effort to not let it get wet anyway to be safe). probably have shot several THOUSAND pics and all I can say is "wish I had this camera thirty years ago". Thanks Sony!

Incredible Camera!!!
This is an incredible camera. I went from a Nikon D7100 to this Mirrowless Sony. A great decision. Most of time it gets the exposure dead on without a gray card. I was pleasantly surprised at just how good it does. No more Nikon for me. I’m sold on Sony!!! Only drawback is there are a lot of screens to make adjustments. Not enough to give it a bad review though.

Super Sharp Pictures - Buy Extra Batteries
I recently purchased the Sony A6400 after retiring my canon 70D. I wanted something that I could take trail running, shoot raw, have high image quality, and a little smaller than a DSLR. The canon A6400 has turned out to be perfect. The photos I shoot are SUPER SHARP, the focus system is awesome and the Kit lens has been surprisingly good. The UI is slightly clunky for someone transitioning from a canon environment, but I'm slowly getting the hang of things. I would recommend buying extra batteries, at least 2 extra batteries as the mirroless lens do not last anywhere close to DSLR's.

Adorei a câmera. Recomendo.
