Phoenix, Vol. 12: Early Works Kindle Edition

I tried to contact publisher viz.com about the low number of paper book versions they produced. There are now people charging obscene prices, e.g. $15 book now being sold for $150 to $300. Some are not even available anymore. The only problem, they have a popup that verifies you are not a robot which is good for them, but the instructions on what type of images to select are off the top of the screen so you have no idea what to select. I tried it in Latest Firefox, IE, and Edge. I didn't have Chrome installed so I didn't try with that. I would be glad to respond to their request if they would just test their own verification first. The company does not mind selling Kindle versions (no costs to them once they produce the file). But that doesn't help me at all. You can get the whole set of 12 volumes in Japanese, large book size, for $150. They obviously have the translation completed; they are just making it impossible for people to complain and forcing people to buy one version at a high profit margin for themselves. At the same time they are supporting a near black market version on their paperback books.

It's interesting to see Mr. Tezuka's initial ideas for one of his greatest mangas. I find myself enjoying his pages and great storytelling. Just as a word of warning, the early works do differ from the Phoenix series that is well-known today. I don't want to spoil how that is, but if anyone is interested in comparing the early works to his later pieces, this is a fun and enjoyable manga to check out!

These are fantastic books (the Phoenix series) and looking at an early work in it is fun.
