Eye of the Earthquake Dragon: A Branches Book (Dragon Masters #13) (13)

My son loved these in 2nd grade. They are great early chapter books. They are interesting (dragons!), show team work and problem-solving, and have many pictures. Now my son is ready for more advanced "middle grade" books and has told me he has outgrown these. They were well liked for a while and helped turn him into an avid reader. Let kids read interesting, even dreaded "twaddle", books as long as the morals are good. Then they learn that not only CAN they read, but they LIKE to read! That's when you can advance to "better" books. Early chapter books like this are priceless in helping kids make that leap.

Easy reads for my 8 year old. He loves the series

My daughter got sucked in this series of books a few months ago, and has been clamoring to read them as fast as possible. All of the books in this series are perfect for kids ages 7-10. Mine is currently 8 and has no problems reading through the books in this series. The story is very cute and age appropriate in content, and in difficulty. Can't recommend them enough. This is the first book series my son fell in love with! He didn’t like to read and would give me such a hard time. but as a teacher by profession, I didn’t give up. I knew if I could find a book series that engaged him, he would learn to love to read. I read the first couple books in this series aloud to him. My first grader was hooked. We read the next books together, taking turns reading aloud. He now devours them quickly. He can’t wait until the next book comes out. He just finished second grade and still loves this series.

My son started reading this series this year in third grade and he loves it! The story is very exciting. Every night before be we read a chapter and talk about the problems the kids face and how they should solve them. We can’t wait to start the next book.

My child likes the entire series, this is book 13. Even though there's many chapters, they need to be longer. My child also liked the earthquake dragon because it looks friendly and does not mean any harm. It looks cool because its eye is the color of it's scales.

any 7yo son cannot stop reading and we’ve shared also and passed on to 4 other friends. This book in particular he said was a mixture of “emotional and a bit sad, but really good”. Highly recommend the entire saga!

My son had a teacher who read these to him and he loved the series so he asked for me to buy some of these and he has been loving it. These books have been holding up and I have felt it and it has a very nice finish. He finds the contents extremely entertaining and reads it over and over again. These pages have never ripped and are very durable and also feel nice and these books have a lot of content. It is also family friendly so it is perfect for your child(ren). All these characters have very nice plot and its overall pretty sweet for the value. I got this book for my child who was 9 and it was pretty moderate in difficulty for him to read.

Mein 8-jähriger Sohn ist großer Fan der „Dragon Masters“-Reihe, und ich würde sagen, „Eye of the Earthquake Dragon“ ist eines der besseren Bücher in der Reihe. Dragon Masters war eine der ersten Serien, die er selbstständig lesen wollte. Die Geschichte ist spannend und gut strukturiert, mit klarer Sprache und kurzen Kapiteln, was sie ideal für junge Leser macht. Für deutsche Schüler der 8. oder 9. Klasse, die Englisch als Fremdsprache lernen und bereits über gute Grundkenntnisse verfügen, könnte ich mir vorstellen, dass diese Bücher eine gute Möglichkeit bieten, ihre Lesefähigkeiten in Englisch zu verbessern. Die einfache Sprache und die einigermaßen interessante Handlung wären glaube ich für dieses Alter und diese Sprachfähigkeit gut geeignet.

We needed a good "first chapter" series with lots of pictures as for bedtime routine as picture books just became rather expensive. So I searched the internet and came across the recommendation for Scholastic's Dragon Masters book series. They LOVE all the characters/dragons in the books and love guessing what each person can do and what powers the dragons have. Whenever possible we use the Kindle edition and broadcast it to our TV via our Amazon Firebox (via wireless projection) so that everyone can see the text and the pictures. Unfortunately not all the books are available for Amazon Kindle, so some books we had to buy as hard paper and we are running out of space in our bookshelves as we have sooo many books, so we prefer electronic copies. Electronic copies also allow us to share it onto their Amazon Fire tablets for kids. Again, LOVED by all of our kids and we have different ages and grasp of the world. Unfortuantely we have read ALL the books available and now have to wait until March 2021 until the next book comes out.
