I’ll be honest, I didn’t think a simple power box could make such a difference — until I tried a cheaper knockoff and it failed within weeks. I was using it outside for holiday lights and a small outdoor setup, and the latches on the cheap one snapped when I was closing it. Worse, water somehow got inside, which obviously is a huge safety risk. That scared me more than anything. After that, I went back and bought the real SockitBox, and it’s like night and day. It’s built like a tank — the latches click shut securely and feel like they’ll last forever, even in freezing temps or blazing sun. I’ve had my SockitBox outside for almost a year straight now, through rain, snow, and everything in between, and I just checked — completely bone dry inside. That’s the kind of reliability you can’t fake. It’s not just about keeping water out, either — the design makes it easy to run cords through the back while still sealing tight. I use it for outdoor tools, string lights, and even a security camera, and I never worry about plugging things in or leaving it out there. It gives me peace of mind, especially during storms. Yeah, the SockitBox costs a bit more than some of the others, but after my experience, it’s clearly worth every dollar. The cheap version seemed like a good idea at the time, but it ended up being a total waste — and potentially dangerous. With the SockitBox, you’re paying for real weatherproofing, solid construction, and safety. If you need a reliable outdoor power solution, just stick with the original. Save yourself the hassle and buy the one that actually works.

I use a lot of lighted yard decorations for the holidays--mostly Halloween and Christmas, when my area gets a good amount of rain and/or snow. I use more simple cord protectors for single plug-to-plug connections, but needed something larger to accommodate a power strip. The medium box fit a 3-plug power strip (about 8in long), with plenty of room to accommodate the plug heads & some of the extension cord length as well. Closing it while keeping all your cords in the proper spots could be a little difficult, but not too bad--my goal was to set everything up once then never open it again until it was time to take down my decorations, so I was willing to spend the time to get everything lined up perfectly. I also had some single plug-to-plug connections for lights that have very boxy plugs/connectors that were too big for the simple cord protectors--I used the small-sized box for those, and they fit with plenty of room. They were out for about 6 weeks and saw some pretty heavy rainfall--water collected on the top of the boxes but no moisture was inside when I opened them up to take down my decorations. I definitely recommend investing in these--not only does it perform well, but it brought me good peace of mind knowing that all my decorations were protected from the elements.

This worked perfect for Christmas in Florida. We get down pours of rain occasionally and this kept all my light from shorting out.

I bought this in 2019 and it has been outside in my backyard ever since. In L constant use for my well and softener system. The power strip and plugs have never gotten wet.

Even after reading all the great reviews and ordering this, I was still worried how weather proof it really would be. We had some rainy days, but after the rain let up, I'd open the box to make sure it was dry inside and it was every time! I used it for my inflatable Halloween decoration, so of course I didn't use it while it was raining, but it was always safe to use right after it stopped raining. Great box and I'll use it for my Christmas decoration too! Edit 12/23/2023: The small box (green) worked great for Halloween and Christmas last year, and again for Halloween this year, but I got more Christmas decorations this year, so I bought the medium. (black) The small could fit my 3-prong extension cord with 2 plugs plugged in, but not 3. The medium is so much bigger, so there's plenty of room! I guess I should've gotten the medium from the start, but now I have 2 boxes. :)

Aucune jardinerie ou magasin de bricolage ne propose ce genre de produit. Utilisée pour les illuminations de Noël dans le jardin, j'ai réussi à brancher 6 guirlandes et décorations électriques sur 2 multiprises de 5 trous. Contrôle au bout de 2 semaines dehors avec quelques pluies (Ile de France), rien à signaler. Je vais commander une 2ème boite pour l'autre bout de jardin pour l'année prochaine.
