NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Jamie Oliver--one of the bestselling cookbook authors of all time--is back with a bang. Focusing on incredible combinations of just five ingredients, he's created 130 brand-new recipes that you can cook up at home, any day of the week. From salads, pasta, chicken, and fish to exciting ways with vegetables, rice and noodles, beef, pork, and lamb, plus a bonus chapter of sweet treats, Jamie's got all the bases covered. This is about maximum flavor with minimum fuss, lots of nutritious options, and loads of epic inspiration. This edition has been adapted for US market. Review: Ignore the bad reviews! - It always amazes me how picky folks are about their cookbooks. I would imagine itโs quite hard to write a cookbook that appeals to everyone... There will always be a few things that donโt appeal to you as an individual, and Iโve just never understood that to be grounds for a poor review. I donโt think itโs that hard to convert measurements and I think we Americans get a bit narcissistic around the world having to cater to our needs. Additionally, my cookbook has US measurements so there must be different editions. Cooking is also an art and worthy of exploration and trying new things. Apparently seeing an unfamiliar ingredient is also grounds for a poor review. I think this book is simply stunning and genius in its simplicity. I took great joy from taking it in visually before even trying a recipe. It's really a work of art and I appreciate the time and effort that went into creating it. I have since enjoyed all of the recipes we've tried so far and I'm looking forward to cooking my way through it. Even if you don't recognize an ingredient or don't have access to an ingredient, I promise there's an easy swap available! That's the cool thing about cooking, you can get creative and imaginative and make recipes your own. Itโs not easy to create recipes with 5 ingredients and I tip my hat to Jamie. This cookbook gets five stars in all of my personal voting categories including taste, artistry, visual appeal, and ingenuity. Do not hesitate to buy this book for yourself or gift it to a lucky friend. Review: LOVE THIS! Easy recipes- it's teaching me how to add flavor easily - I buy a lot of cookbooks - love reading cookbooks and can usually find a few favorite new recipes in each. I have never posted a cookbook review before - just haven't had such a strong reaction to other books. I have found, by far, the most new recipes that we will continue to eat repeatedly over time from this book than any other I have gotten in the past few years. This is due to the simplicity of prep and what seems like gourmet results. Some reviewers mention unusual ingredients .... Yes, since the recipes use only 5 ingredients, I am finding these ingredients that are new to me, are an EASY way to add great depth of flavor easily - without having to combine tiny bits of many individual seasonings and spices. I am also finding that many of the asian pastes or sauces listed are easy to find at my grocery store and prevent me from needing to spend a lot of time building sauces or marinades. I am enjoying learning how to use these and am amazed at the results I'm getting from the recipes. My family has loved the recipes I have tried so far. The recipes are low carb, healthy and follow my Dr's recommendations for healthy eating AND are delicious. (Let's be honest, healthy and delicious are not always BOTH used to describe the same recipe) I love that these recipes are quick and do-able for dinner on a work night. I would highly recommend this book to people who love food, are open to trying new flavor profiles and are trying to simplify meal prep.

Easy to use.
This is a great book, easy to read & follow. I like that I can watch him make each of these recipes on his show and I don't have to stop to write down the recipe because I have this book. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of all the recipes in the book, there are probably about 10 I would even want to make. Having said that though, I must add that with many of his recipes, substitutions can easily be made for some ingredients and the dish still tastes great! All the recipes I've tried so far have been very flavorful.

Jamie Oliver Does Not Just Write "Cook Books" He Writes a Way of Life - a Simpler One
Recently, I bought three of Jamie Oliverโs cookbooks because he was doing some wild demonstration on Facebook. He had mentioned one of his new books was Five Ingredients , Quick and Easy Food that definitely appealed to me. Only five? Once on Amazon, I ended up ordering three books of Jamie Oliverโs. I had a hard time picking between many of them so I splurged and bought three cool looking books written by Jamie Oliver. Iโve always adored Jamie since the first time I saw him in London a few decades ago and I noticed he worked very hard to keep the big networks away from owning him and fat cats that want to steal the profit off artists like Jamie, usually ending up owning the artist own catalog. I really admired him for not taking big money and keeping his focus on his own interest such as revamping the London school system food where he made global awareness that school food does not have to suck or cost more. When his books arrived I thumbed through a few of them and I realized quickly, Jamie Oliver does not write โjustโ cookbooks. He doesnโt just sell recipes, he sells entire lifestyles, purity, happiness, and the reader inadvertently learns how to handle that asparagus, or garlic, how to store it, and things we never really think much about. And he does not use very many words actually to get the point across. Just from the five minute quick and easy food book I learned he truly can take the most pathetic refrigerator of a bachelor or bachelorette that can contain only old Parmesan cheese from a party, mushrooms that have been sitting in the back of the fridge for a month, cloves of garlic that do not yet have a destination, and fresh sage from perhaps a garden whip them together, bake them for 30 minutes at 400 degrees and transform these ingredients, into a beautiful roasted mushroom garlic side dish! I am caring for a person that needs to eat 6000 calories a day. That is a challenge and Iโm a busy author myself. But I love this person and he hast to eat 6000 cal a day which is almost like eating every hour on the hour. It was a stroke. They blew up his pituitary gland and for some reason his body metabolizes at the speed of light. Heโs actually underweight because itโs just really hard to eat 6000 calories a day. Thank you, Jamie Oliver. Iโll be using your books basically exclusively to help my friend eat, eat and eat some more! Deborah Dolen ~ Author

A Fantastically Beautiful and Brilliant Cookbook
I have a lifetime of cookbooks, many I have lived with for eons. But โฆ this Jamie Oliver โ5 Ingredientsโ is incredibly fantastic. This is so in my current realm of drastically downsizing, Iโm going to buy one last thing ๐คฃ, an acrylic cookbook stand. This is where I will place this โ5 Ingredientsโ and open to my recipe of the day, every day, from Jamie.

Nearly half the recipes contain dairy
Nice hardcover cookbook. Lays flat when open. Has beautiful colorful photos and nutritional information as well. But I didnโt anticipate that 42% percent of the recipes, not including the desserts, would contain dairy. I realize I didnโt buy a dairy-free cookbook, but with only 5 ingredients per recipe, why so much dairy? I expected dairy in the salad recipes. Itโs easy enough to omit because the dairy element is usually just sprinkled on top. But the vegetables too? Nine out of twelve recipes to be exact. Also, some recipes require highly specialized ingredients not easily found in stores, such as rendang powder, preserved lemons, โnduja, rose harissa, flowering oregano, etc. But I do appreciate how simple and straightforward the recipes are. Healthy too.
