works like a charm
I have a 2004 Cummins QSM11 with a J1939 Engine Data Output port, and my new Garmin 7616 has a J1939 Engine Data Input port. Well guess what? They will NOT talk to each other. You need the J2K100 to convert the Cummins J1939 output to NMEA 2000 data and include it in the NMEA backbone with a T-Connector. works like a charm! Took me 2 months of tinkering with cables, wires and ports before realizing I needed the J2K. Installed in minutes, great piece of equipment, although pricey.
