i picked this up for the shop and for that kind of environment it works really well... lightweight, easy to dispense right from the jug, and landfill safe which matters when you're dealing with compliance and disposal requirements. for a warehouse, factory floor, or any commercial space where you can't just throw down a bag of clay absorbent and call it a day, this makes a lot more sense. it handles spills cleanly and the jug dispenser keeps it easy to grab and go when something hits the floor fast. good option for any operation that needs to stay clean and stay compliant.

I finally had a reason to use this! Last night I accidentally knocked over a small bucket of oil. It was all over the floor and I immediately reached for the paper towels like I would have in the past...then I remembered I had this on the shelf! I grabbed it and poured a generous amount onto the oil and let it sit. I came back 3 hours later and it had absorbed all the oil...I swept it up and into a dustpan and threw it into the garbage and there was actually very little evidence that I had spilled the oil at all! I was super impressed...my old paper towel method would leave oil marks for months (sometimes permanently)...maybe it was because I reacted to fast to put the absorbent onto the oil...but this worked exceedingly well. The only reason I removed 1 star...is because I feel ike $25 for 1 gallon of this seems excessive...I think it should be priced around $10 for a gallon, maybe 15....but I can buy a lot of paper towels for $25...yes, they don't work as well as this stuff...but these days, every penny counts....So it works fantastic...I just wish it would be a little cheaper to keep on hand.

Works great! Sucks spilled motor oil right out of the concrete driveway. Scrub it in with a stiff brush, then sweep it up to throw it away neatly.

This is lightweight material that absorbs fairly well. We use it in our garage during oil changes which invariably lead to minor droplets or spills on our poly floor. This absorbed the spill about 90%. Easy to clean up. Overall this is kind of expensive for what it does, we always used cat litter for the same purpose with similar or better results. Comes in a handy container.

I picked this up to keep in the garage for the inevitable fluid leaks that come with DIY car maintenance. To see if it lived up to the claims, I did a small test spill with some motor oil on my concrete floor. The Good: This stuff is incredibly thirsty. As soon as I poured it on, it started pulling the oil up. I scrubbed with a toothbrush and within minutes, the spot was dry and easy to sweep away. It definitely outperforms the heavy, clay-based "kitty litter" style absorbents I’ve used in the past. It’s lightweight and easy to store in the 1-gallon jug. The Heads-Up: Because it is so lightweight, it is very susceptible to the wind. If you are using this on a driveway or in a breezy shop, be careful when pouring. A light gust will send the "snow" flying before it hits the ground. Verdict: If you want something that actually sucks up the oil rather than just sitting on top of it, this is a great choice. Just keep the garage door closed while you’re applying it!

[Review of ENPAC 1-Gallon Jug Dispenser Granular Absorbent when listed at $34.14] I poured 1 tsp oil and 1.5 tsp of the absorbent. As you can see in the images, it worked pretty well. This stuff is light weight and comes in a convenient container. I can see how this might be better to use in certain settings -- like a kitchen or a lab or any other place where throwing an absorbent on a spill with a shovel might not be appropriate. For that reason I would give this product a high rating. I generally use an absorbent in the garage, so if I'm going to spend $34 on it, I'll probably get the 5 gal container of whatever works good enough instead. This is a good product, just not cost effective for larger applications - like a garage. The only scenario where I could see the price as reasonable is within a single family home where bulk sizes aren't needed.
