How long do you have before the bags start to break down?

Long enough to dig a hole. I wouldn’t leave them overnight or anything, but I used these in conjunction with a 5 gallon bucket and the bags did not leak. I tied one up and let it sit on the ground for maybe 10 minutes and it was still intact when I moved it. From what I understand, these bags probably have to be in direct contact with soil for some time before they start to break down. Hours at least, maybe days. I haven’t dug any back up to check.

Are the bags fragrant or fragrance-free?

These bags are fragrance-free, as they are made to be disposed of immediately after use.

Can i get it without the case?

I did not see an option to purchase without the zipper case/bag. The case comes in handy to keep the roll of bags secure.

will standard toilet paper also breakdown inside it in the wilderness?

Leave no trace principals of pooping in the wilderness means only your excrement goes in the hole, at least 6 inches deep. These bags should never be buried, nor should toilet paper. This advertisement is misleading and will lead to ruining our forests.
