Love it! Highly recommend it! What a massive inspiration Sam Bahadur is! A force to reckon with ! Excellent book!

This fantastic book contains an excellent account of the most heroic personage of my times. Although, I borrowed this book from Vajra Library twice to finish reading, yet I could not read it the way I wanted. Hence, this marvelous book is here to adorn my mini-library, in my house, from today, *The 22022022!* - Colonel Gurcharan Singh Riar, Japanese Can't.

The book itself is a marvelous read, especially for people in awe of the personality that was the Field Marshal. However, the copy I recieved had a different cover than what is shown in the picture here at Amazon. Nevertheless, be rest assured, the inside content is indeed the same as the centenary edition as shown here, as after getting this I was doubtful of its authenticity as well so I compared it with a library copy of the centenary edition and I can testify that it matched perfectly word for word. The edition I recieved was printed in 2013. And the quality of the printed copy itself is far inferior to the edition I saw at the library, as you can see in the picture below. So, these are the only two factors preventing me from giving this gem of a book a five-star rating here at Amazon. Lt General Depinder Singh has compiled a biography based off of his time as Military Assistant to the Field Marshal in his term as The Chief of Army Staff from 1969-1973. Most of the book consists of instances and anecdotes wherein Sam Manekshaw in his usual style, uses wit and humor of a level I am yet to witness in any other person that has an association with the defence services or any other individual in a powerful position. Also, the CD included inside has some of the most insightful and educational 55 minutes you could spend your time listening to, but that same lecture can also be found on YouTube. Just look up "Leadership Lecture Sam Manekshaw". Also, an excerpt of the lecture is printed as an appendix in the book. So, all in all, a very worthwhile read. You will treasure this book like a sacred relic once you have read it. :)

What an amazing book about what an amazing person. A must read for everyone, especially for those keen on knowing about the life of the great Sam Bahadur! Absolutely no problem with the delivery and the quality of the book as some other people have written. I find the book very very interesting and intriguing and oh what a page turner!

The book gives a detailed description of the style of working of free India's greatest military general. A brilliant officer who changed the landscape of subcontinent with his shrewd and thorough planning. A badass officer who never compromised in his ethos and moral standards. A true leader who showed every traits of leadership throughout his career. Must read for everyone.

Full ratings for the book , author - Lt Gen Depinder Singh.. exceptionally written... But the free CD on "Live on Leadership" was blank/empty when received which made me a bit upset!!
