Even on the lowest power (20x) you can clearly and easily see .22 holes on a dead tree at 100yards. If one review had said that, I would have bought it a year ago. Instead I hemmed and hawed thinking I need to spend hundreds to get a spotting scope that would do that. So on prime day when it was 20% off, I figured, well heck, why not? If it sucks, I'll return it. At 40x I can see .177 pellet holes at 100 yards on plain old white paper. No more walking back and forth or having to buy shoot n c targets just to check my zero. The scope on my favorite airgun cost 4 times this and even at 25x you can't see your hits at 100 yards. This does it easily. Like others have said, image quality degrades after 40x, but if you want to see .22 holes at 100 clearly and easily, this will work. My 53year old, terrible vision eyes w astigmatism have no problem with this scope. The tree with holes is dead, so nothing was injured. The dove is at 20 yards, it was the only critter I seen out that day, except for my dog, she's at 50 yards. You can see things much further, very clearly, but when I tap "take picture" button on my phone, its blurry. So if you want to take long distance pics use something better than a 10yo cell phone on a shaky tripod. But as for the scope, it's better than I expected.

I bought this to use on the rifle range. I hoped to use this for spotting up to 300 yards, but I knew that the distance might be stretching the capacity of the scope. At the outset, one has to say that there is actually nothing wrong with this scope. The scope appears to be well-made and sturdy. Adjusting the scope for power and focus is easy. The phone mount actually works pretty well. You have to fool around with it to get a good fit on the spotting scope and it takes some patience to get the target centered in the spotting scope so that you can see the image on the camera. But it does work, and the images come out pretty well. I did not modify the images above to enhance them in any way other than to crop them so that I could post them in this review. I didn’t bother to use the included tripod because I had a much sturdier version of my own. The padded case works well and should be substantial enough to protect the scope from damage due to the regular bumps that it will invariably receive. I gave this scope four stars because it does well for the money, but it does not have the quality found in scopes that are far more expensive. If you are intending to use this for the range, be aware that your target distance will determine your degree of satisfaction with this scope. I used spatter targets for my 5.56mm rifle, hoping that the targets would highlight enough for the shots to be seen on the scope. (The 5.56 mm round leaves the same size hole as .22, or .223 rounds - so it is pretty small.) I put the scope on a good solid tripod on a concrete target table. If I was careful not to touch the scope very much I could see the shots at 200 yards pretty well. The photo on the left was taken of a target 200 yards downrange with my iPhone that was attached to the scope. There was a pretty good wind blowing at the range, and the wind affected the scope to the extent that I really had trouble seeing where the rounds impacted. When the wind was calm, of course, the image improved. When I used the scope for my targets at 300 yards, It was nearly impossible to get a clear view of the target because of the wind blowing the spotting scope around. The camera has a quicker eye than I do, and it caught some good shots at 300 yards. As you can see, you can just make out the shots on the spatter target. The targets in the photos are 17 inches in diameter, and the bulls-eye is 3 inches in diameter. The quality of optics really makes a difference. I use a 4.5x14x44 Sig Sauer scope, and the shots on the rifle scope appear clearer than with the spotting scope for 200 yards. If you are shooting at 25-150 yards, I think that this scope will make you happy. At distances greater than that, you have to balance the small dent this makes in your budget against your need to see your shots at greater distances. If you are not going to use splatter-type targets, then scale down your expectations. At the bottom line, this is a well-made spotting scope for the money that will work on the range at reasonable yardage. If you want to get a spotting scope for regular use at 200+ yards, then you will probably have to pay a lot more for a scope that has much clearer optics.

This is a very nice scope. Excellent range, crystal clear optics, Money well spent. Its very light mounted on tripod.and the carry case is size perfect. Comes with everything you need for bird watching to Archery target spotting. . its very versatile and easy to setup. I had a minor problem with my scope eye piece, I sent message to Gosky and they took care of it very quickly above and beyond. Highly recommend as a starter scope or even intermediate use.

I have had and enjoyed using the Roxant Blackbird Scope. Mountains behind our house are about 4 miles away and I wanted something that could dial in a little better for observing wildlife and decided on this Gosky 2019 model. I'm impressed. The Gosky is better in almost every way except size, where it's about double the size of the Roxant. The Roxant is great for it's mobility, something you could grab and sit on the hood of a car while site seeing. This Gosky is a bit larger, but, the performance is pretty darn good. It's ability to focus on distant objects is significantly better than the Roxant. The focus wheel on the Gosky is also easier to use. One thing I did notice on the Gosky is that zooming in/out on any object always requires refocusing as well (not so much on the Roxant). But the ease of focusing makes this a minor issue. As others have pointed out, the tripod is not the greatest. However, it serves my needs just fine. By the way, the tripod that comes with both the Gosky and Roxant are nearly identical. I like the Roxant for its size and it is convenient for shorter distances (several hundred yards or less). However, the Gosky for my purpose (generally sitting in my backyard with the scope sitting on a table) is now my go-to scope. The clarity and focus at long distances sets it apart. Comparing these two models is like comparing apples to oranges. I only compare the two since these are the only two I have experience with and may help someone else with a decision. The Roxant is about $80 while the Gosky is about $140. The specs are obviously different as well with the Roxant spec'd at 12-36x50 while the Gosky spec's at 20-60x80. If your distance is within a few hundred yards, save your money and go with the Roxant. If you're looking for a scope that can focus really well at long distances, then you may want to consider the Gosky (or a competitor that has similar specs). I see some scopes that are 15 times the cost of this Gosky with similar specs and I wonder what those scopes provide that this Gosky doesn't (perhaps a better tripod, night vision?). If someone experienced with spotting scopes can shed some light on how the significantly more expensive models compare, that would be helpful.

I purchased this scope for use as a target spotter for small-bore prone competition at 50 and 100 yards. It replaces an aging Nikon 15-45 x 50. The Nikon was fine at up to 30 power at 50 yards. Results at 100 yards was another story. Checking online reviews directed me to this scope. I wish I could justify spending the money on German optics, however the reviews of the Gosky where encouraging enough to give it a try. Amazon Prime got it to me same day, which was very nice. It comes with a usable case, phone adapter and small tripod. The phone adapter does not fit the scope, while the tripod is rather light weight for my use. The scope itself is nicely finished. The view is noticeably brighter, of course. The angled eye piece is a great improvement over the Nikon. Performance is about the same at 20 power as the Nikon is at 15. As one zooms up in power the Gosky inches ahead of the Nikon . Just inches however. At this price performance drops pretty fast as you go up in power. Outstanding performance at high power is what you get for your many thousands of dollars spent. At a match over the weekend I put the scope to the test. At 20 to 30 power I could easily see hits in the black, clear and sharp, at 100 yards. I think it could squeak by out to 200 yards. Good enough. All in all I call it a step forward. The brighter view, the angled eye piece and the improvement at 100 yards adds up to money well spent IMO.

Can finally see, IN DETAIL, my shots at 100 yds away! The tripod isn't the sturdiest, but it works and not gonna knock it. Seemed to have good focus, and felt solid otherwise. Always going with me to the range.

This is outstanding. I can't figure out why anyone would need to pay hundreds let alone THOUSANDS for the same distance specs: I did the research at the range too. Looked through a $3,000 scope of the same specs and it's literally a scam joke... Thank you to all the reviewers of this piece - you steered me correctly. I'm sure there are other brands just as good as this one, and I'm sure there are some really crappy brands too. The Amazon reviews are always my guide.

Franchement impressionner par cette longue vue. Image nette en zoom x20 x40 et plus sombre a x60 mais reste acceptable surtout pour le prix. Je regrette pas mon achat. Je regarder la lune avec et franchement j’ai été vraiment surpris de pourvoir voir les cratères aussi bien. Aucun regret

I was cynical about the optical quality of a monocular worth 15K INR. The binocular that I use costs 35K+ but that's something I use most of the time. The spotting scope I bought was mainly for wetland birding, including coastal, shore and offshore birds, something that I won't be indulging in too much post the migratory season is over (in India it hits peak between Nov and April). Hence I didn't wish to spend much. However, the optical quality and the utility of the mobile camera adapter has far exceeded my expectations. Please check the images of the ducks and the terns shot from over 75 and 100 meters away respectively. With patience and some practise, you can get images useful enough for identification when your camera and binocs fail, which is often the case in wetland birding. It's not a substitute for the photographic lens is what one must remember. Once you accept that fact, it is a great monocular for spotting and identifying distant birds at an unbeatable price. I have not used it for any other purpose yet, but my wife plans to use it for stargazing. Once she tries it out, will update or tell her to post a separate review. A slightly heavier build would have been preferable since I found it unstable in windy conditions at 60x zoom. But I guess this is what you can expect for 15k. The mini tripod is an absolutely useless accessory included in the package and I have trashed it already. So I suggest Gosky remove it and deduct a few hundred bucks off the price. Bottom line: 20/10 for the mobile adapter, 10/10 for optics, 6/10 for build and ergonomics and 0/10 for the mini tripod. Give a thumbs up if you find this helpful.

The main spotting scope is good with clear image and sharp focus. The Tripod came with it was functional but nothing great to write with. The phone holder is versatile enough to work with my another single-hand monocular providing some additional value.

Great quality and surprising performance for an occasional user. The phone attachment is fun for the kids. You'll be able to see objects from about a few miles away. Good for photography , but can be a bit fiddly and so will take a bit of adjustment lining up camera, but once you get used to that you can get some great shots.
