Grandslam Finest Badger Shaving Brush with Resin Handle- Engineered for the Best Shave of Your Life (Gray)

This is way better than expected for the price. I saw many reviews complaining about shedding and smell, but the shedding is less than some of my $100 brushes. After 3 uses I have stopped losing any bristles, and have only lost a dozen or so total. The wet dog smell is normal with natural hair brushes, but was almost undetectable unless really trying to find it. Once you lather with a good scented shave soap you will only smell the soap scent left on the brush. I use this in my normal rotation now and have ordered another one for my travel bag.

First let me acknowledge that this is my upgrade from the boar bristle brush that came with my Van Der Hagen® Luxury Shaving Set. That kit was a great start for deciding whether or not I wanted to get into this as upping my shaving game from shaving creams and gels that come from a can. It was good enough to make me decide that this was the path that was worth the added effort. However, I also knew that it wasn't the end all/be all of this... So, I decided to make some improvements by upgrading the individual items from that kit. This brush was one of those things. I decided that I wanted to try something that while retaining stiffness, but be softer than the boars hair brush that came with my "starter kit". This badger hair brush totally fit the bill. Some people claimed that it has an offensive wet dog smell. Being that I have 5 dogs, I know what wet dogs smell like. This had a hint of that smell, but nowhere near as strong as an actual wet dog. This smell goes away after a couple uses. I can't compare this to the brushes that cost 5-15X as much as this, as I don't own them. That said, it was a dramatic improvement over a boar bristle brush in how soft it feels, retaining shape on the bristles, the lather it makes and still being stiff enough to be functional. I also prefer the weight of it and think it's attractive looking, as well as like how sturdy the handle feels. Well worth the $11.99 paid for it, I'd highly recommend.

I was drawn to this brush because of the beautiful turquoise handle with swirls all the way around it as shown in the picture. What I received was kind of a periwinkle blue with two little black designs on it. It still looks nice, but a little disappointed. The chrome ferrule and pommel look great. The handle is heavy, and the knot is large, very nice. It lathered up great. I had to wet the bristles and bury my nose in them to detect any kind of odor, which was extremely faint. With shaving soap I couldn't smell anything at all, just the soap. The bristles are soft and it was very pleasant to use. I've only used it once but didn't lose any bristles that I noticed. I'm not sure that it's 100% real badger but all in all a good brush for the money. Just bummed that the handle doesn't look anything like the one shown.

Moistens quickly in warm water, and helps create a luxurious lather with whatever brand of shaving soap you use. Lathering your face results in a relaxing experience. Great purchase!

does not shed as much as my other one, and geez this thing weights a ton

I've been wet shaving for decades, my husband however has always been a bit reluctant of safety and Straight edge razors with his recent complaints about the awful Cartridge razor he uses I decided to put a little package together for him and see if he's ready to give it another whirl. I included a Merkur Futur ( I have love the Futur razor) , Stand, Bowl and some TOB in Rose which he already likes very much and uses. I chose this brush as I loved the look of it, the gorgeous blue and mirror like chrome are a nice break from the standard barrel shapes you see time and time again. Considering the price I was hesitant and had a hunch the bristles we going to fall more than short of Silver Tip. To my surprise the brush is softer than expected, the weight is a bit light but I'm comparing it to my Dovo's and my Merkur - so it's not quite fair. It fits perfectly in the stand (unlike the Futur!) and really is smashing looking. It's starting to bloom quite well and most important of all he loves it. I would say if you're a novice, on a budget or just looking for a decent back up brush that won't break the bank this would be a fine choice. Also important to note is that the brush comes beautifully packaged in a black box, sealed in cellophane, making it ideal for gift giving.G

The brush has soft, high-quality bristles. It creates a good lather and leaves the skin very comfortable after shaving.

Everything new is great. While I have an electric shaver I still enjoy the luxury of shaving like a man. This brush replaced another brush I had ordered some six years ago. This one did not disappoint. It natural and does everything it is designed to do. I goes great with my wet shave accessories and looks great. It holds the lather well as I lather up twice and get a real close baby butt face smooth shave. I would recommend this to my wet shaving friends.

Muy buena retención de agua, es medianamente suave,espuma bien, es muy bonita, dudo mucho que sea 100% tejón por el precio, en los primeros usos pierde cabellos (no muchos)

recibi la brocha , se ve muy moderna y muy bella pero es muy dificil manejarla ya que no es diseñado para agarrar comodamente , el mango no permita tomarla brocha por el extremo , hay que usar toda la mano , tambien tengo mis dudas referente al pelo de la brocha , dudo que sea tejon ( badger ) ya que se sienta mas como pelo de jabali ( boar ), tengo otros brochas de tejon y el tejon es mas suave , pero en fin , no es caro y dentro de mi colleccion ( shave den ) se ve bonito asi que no me quejo.

Excelente calidad, se siente muy suave al tacto, sin embargo al ser de pelo natural sigue siendo un poco más ”áspera” que las brochas de “pelo” sintético; pero sin duda es la mejor que he tenido.

Just received new brush and its fantastic, quality is much higher than advertised, the brush is a work of art, I almost don't want to use it just keep it on display. Very soft bristles, nice weight and balance. Highly recommended.
