A good choice
Tether Pro products were always high quality built. This is my second purchase from this brand.

It is a USB cable -- but orange
Mostly, it is simply a long USB cable. Normally, long is not a good thing with USB cables. It seems Tether Tools took the extra length into account, as I have had no trouble with the USB performance. (I will guess that they used larger wires in the cable construction to account for the voltage drop, but I don't know for certain). The cable is ORANGE, not black. This is a good thing in a photo studio, as you want to know where the cable is. This is not a minor thing. For most photographers, this cable will connect at one end to a $3,000+ macbook pro, and at the other end to an equally expensive camera (in may case, either a Sony a7ii or an a7Riv). You absolutely don't want to trip on the cable and damage either of the devices attached. The orange is a good thing. If you do plan on using this tether cable, I suggest a frame to mount the cable through, this will help keep the cable from falling out on account of its own weight.

Dead Reliable, Extremely Durable
I’ve been using this cable (I have 4 or 5) on my Sony A7rii’s and Sony A9’s in both studio and on location for several years now. My oldest cord in continuous use is probably three years old and the only failure I’ve had is when someone trips on the cord on set and it’s not properly secured. At that point the cord fails instead of ripping the port out of the camera - as you’d hope.It always connects to my MacBook Pro quickly and I’ve probably shot 100-150k frames without a problem. Sony’s connect much quicker than either the HASSELBLAD or Canon’s but let’s be clear - connection issues are not the cord but usually handshaking issues with software and cameras. Capture One, Tether Tools and Sony are extremely reliable together.I’ve been using Tether Tools for as long as they’ve been in existence and I’m pleased with their performance and won’t trust other brands.

It does a great job - connect to my Sony A7RII
Pricey for an orange cable - but it works out of the box. I can remotely control my Sony A7RII.

Expensive but works well
I think the cable is overpriced, but bought it anyway because the other choices sounded questionable. So far it’s been used for four long days of Santa photos and is working perfectly.
