Works very well for gas
I purchased this for removing fuel from a 55 gal drum. It does a great job. Also can fill up a 5 gal. Container very fast.

Best of two pumps
Wow. Just received this. I sent a different one back this week, it wasn't engineered well. This one is better designed and built.CAP: Works well, and doesn't want to strip with moderate pressure (other pump felt like someone had used it already, and overtightened it) Also, the new pump had a "stop" so the cap wouldn't unscrew completely. (Like I want to crawl around in my basement looking for this very crucial piece)PUMP: Working stroke feels positive, with stops at both ends of pull strokes. Bellows are enclosed by red plastic and works on "push down" stroke. The other pump bellows were visible and worked on "pull up" stroke and felt like bellows would pull apart if pulled on too hard and overextended the bellows.MOUNTING THREADS: These threads are properly pitched. Only able to hand tighten 1 1/2 turns onto barrel bung hole, plenty of threads left. *note*~ It's easy to cross thread the barrel bung threads which are softer plastic than the pump threads. I repaired minor "mushing" or first couple bung threads simply by reinstalling barrel bung cap, and snugging up, loosening, snugging up. Threads repaired. but weren't really damaged, and were not the pump's fault. I wish there was a wrench for this, but not a big deal. The other pump threads mismatched my bung slightly.DISCHARGE HOSE RETAINER: It works. You can push the whole corrugated hose through this. The other pump would only allow the smooth 2" end of hose through the hose retainer hole. The larger diameter corrugated section wouldn't pass through. So, the hose fell out, dangling near my basement floor.PUMP ACTION: It maintained siphon action after initial priming strokes (maybe 3-6 strokes). The other pump wouldn't maintain siphon.I am happy that for the same price, I got a superior pump to the other one. THANK YOU. Your mileage may vary.

Where's the gasket?
Seems like an adequate product. But there isn't a gasket. It seems wrong to sell a product for use with fuel and it doesn't include a gasket. Also, the threads are unnecessarily long so it takes more time to screw it down completely than it could. The threads on the barrel are maybe a half an inch deep and the threads on the unit are an inch and a half so at least twice as deep as necessary. Not a big deal but ill thought out.

TRDRUM40 Manual Drum Pump
This is the third one of these pumps I have purchased. We use it to pump Methanol Racing fuel from a 55 gal drum for our race cars. They are very durable to hold up to this type fuel. I will be buying again for sure. Great product.

Just what the Dr. ordered
I purchased this pump to transfer cheaper (but the same product) off road diesel fuel from 55 gal drums to my home heating oil tank for my boiler. It's cheaper and I can buy it wholesale. The day my new TRDRUM30 HEAVY DUTY pump came in, a heating oil company delivered oil to my rental house by mistake and over filled my tank. The next day, temperatures rose to almost 80 degrees and the cold oil in the tank expanded and began seeping from the tank's fill bung hole. When I went to the house to check, I could smell heating oil as soon as I arrived. I grabbed this siphon pump and a couple 5 gallon cans and quickly removed enough oil to prevent what could have been a dangerous environmental disaster at my house. Because of this pump, very litle heating oil spilled onto the ground. I intend to use this siphon pump to remove water and sludge from my tanks also. I am very happy with this product and the quality fits my needs perfectly. This pump is great to have on hand for use in many occasions. Just be sure to clean it after every use and store it out of the sunlight.

Great pump for water tubs
So easy to use. When it gets going, it flowers really well. Like that the hose is long enough to meet the bucket to void spillage. Also like that the pipe is long enough to hit bottom of barrel. Great find.

works well for light use, but do not store in sunlight
I bought this to replace an almost exactly similar pump I bought over a decade ago to go with my emergency water barrels (here in earthquake prone California). The old pump stopped siphoning properly after 12 years because of UV disintegration of the plastic which made it leak air. I suspect the new one is no more UV resistant than the old one, so will not store it in sunlight as I did the old one, which was stored indoors but next to a garage window where it received some direct sun. I only use this pump once every year to empty the barrels to refill them with fresh water, otherwise it's purely for that hypothetical emergency, so it's perfect for that, so long as it lasts. Don't expect a light plastic pump like this to last forever in any case, or to hold up long under frequent use, but it's a good inexpensive solution for my emergency drinking water supply even if I have to replace it every decade or so.

Simple and it works
I used this TeraPump model TRDRUM30 drum hand pump with syphon on a food grade 55 gallon drum I plan to use for emergency water storage. At first it seemed like the thread was too thin for the plastic bung hole. But there were two bung holes on top of the drum and when I tried the second one it matched perfectly. After a few easy pumps the siphon started the water flowing. Turning the red cap open stopped the flow. I hopefully won't be using this often but I feel comfort it will be there ready when my family needs it.
