The Best British Tea
I’ve been a tea drinker all my life. A few dozen years ago I was introduced to PG Tips, which completely changed my idea of how a good bold tea should taste. I went to order it from Amazon because it isn’t available in any of the local rural stores where I now live. However, I read the reviews that talked about getting tea that was either out of date, close to expiration or was delivered in a broken box with no cellophane, I decided to look at the reviews for another black British tea that had been mentioned in the reviews as being superior. Typhoo tea seemed to be the choice of other British tea drinkers (ranked as one of the three top British teas) so I ordered it. What a great experience from receiving my order the very next day to drinking my first cups this morning! First, the package arrived on time, the box wasn’t torn or mangled, and the tea bags inside were packed in bundles of about 50, each bundle inside tightly sealed in cellophane wrap. I opened a bundle, the round teabags had a substantial amount of tea in each one—no skimping on quantity. Once I opened a package I put them in an airtight container to keep them fresh as I’m the only tea drinker in my household and it’ll take me a while to go through that many. I was excited to try my first cup. I poured the hot water over the bag and the pleasant, bold scent of fresh black tea wafted up to gift my olfactory system as the color in the cup changed to a beautiful dark brown almost immediately. I steeped the bag about a minute, added my usual milk and sweetener and took my first sip…an explosion of rich, bold tea pleasantly entertained my taste buds from the first sip to the last—so I immediately enjoyed a second cup. I AM NOW A HUGE FAN OF TYPHOO TEA! The flavor is beautifully strong and pleasant, it’s easy to order, it’s fresh, arrives without damage to the packaging and is a better price on Amazon than PG Tips. It’s everything you’d expect from a good cup of black British tea. Highly recommended! (I write honest reviews based upon my personal experience, not always 5 star to be certain, and I was not compensated or bribed in any way to write a good review.)

Very good value
To be perfectly honest, I wanted to try Typhoo because it was featured on "Inside the Factory". I had never heard of it here in the US before that. I wouldn't exactly consider myself a tea aficionado, but I do like to have a cup or two in the evening every day. So, I ordered a box to give it a try. Though reportedly strong tea, brewed with a single bag Typhoo was not quite strong enough for my tastes (perhaps b/c I'm an avid coffee drinker throughout the day ???). I suspect most will find it "just right", though, especially if you like Earl Grey, which it reminds me of with just a hint of citrus. For my tastes, I've found that brewing it up with two pods per cup works out, though. Give it 5-minutes to steep and it comes out almost as dark as coffee. Brewed this way it's reminiscent of, yet stronger still than, the Twinings Irish Breakfast I'm accustomed to drinking. And that suits me just fine. Served this strong, BTW, that hint of citrus I mentioned disappears. Nevertheless, unless you like your tea really, really strong, and take milk and sugar with it, it's probably best to stick to a single pod (or cut down the brewing time with two pods for something in between). I'd imagine that will suit those who prefer a more nuanced cup of tea than the intense brew I like. Regardless, it really is quite nice either way, especially for the price, and obviously quite flexible in adapting to different preferences. UPDATE: As I grow more accustomed to this tea I'm finding more and more that, contrary to my initial reaction, a single bag brew is perfectly adequate, given ample time to steep of course.

my go to for English tea, delicious
great english black tea. Just a good cup of tea. Much better than PG Tips since they changed their formulation and it's no longer tasty or to my liking. Try Typhoo thru amazon. Received it on time, very quickly and exactly what I ordered.

Great value for money- read my review
I drink a lot of British tea including PG Tips, Harrods, Williamson, etc. Typhoo is not the best of the bunch, BUT it is an amazing good value for money and a good tea in its own right. I actually drink Typhoo more than any other tea because the price for the number of bags is so favorable. On top of that it is a lot better than Lipton Black Pearl, Stash, Tazo, etc. All in all, if you like a stiff black tea, this is one you should have in rotation.
