Finding a pill cutter in pharmacies on the high street for large pills is difficult. Most cutters are of poor quality, and have a short shelf-life - or are now combined with a pill crusher which is a redundant item for many people.This pill cutter is the best I have yet come across. It easily cuts large oval-shaped pills in half (evenly, not at an angle as some have stated in their reviews). The cut is a sharp break so there is almost no pill residue or powder either. It is very simple to use. The clamp works rather like a claw and it's relatively easy to get the pill in the centre. Close the top and push the handles firmly together and the pill cuts with no problem leaving the two halves in the two sections of the cutter. This works best, I think, with large pills. I have not tried it with small ones which might be difficult to centre and hold in place.Although the manufacturer states the blade will last a lifetime I am sceptical it would. But, it will, I am certain, have a longer life than the usual ones on the market. It's good quality, does the job well and is worth the money (expensive though that seems).

This is my 2nd pill cutter, my first was a small plastic box with a razor blade in place for cutting. This never produced a clean cut.This little device has a blunt blade & the cut is so much straighter, smoother & no flakey bits of a pill. So I totally recommend this little pill cutter.

Well made, substantial, precise pill cutter.I tried the cheap plastic pill cutters, which shattered my pills into lots of little medicinal shards.This pill cutter, cuts.It makes a single cut, and deposits both halves into their own little cubicle. The lid slides around, for top down viewing of the pill halves.My pills were tiny, they took a bit of lining up, and pinching between the severing jaws, but once the pills are held, small adjustments can be made.There is a satisfying 'Snap' as the pincers of power come together, and you can be secure in the knowledge that there are two bits of pill, rather than some tiny rubble and dust.

Good product , clean cut no mess. Highly recommend especially for small brittle pills . Best pill cutter so far .

At last a pill cutter that does what is says. Brilliant, needs a bit of getting used to holding a positioning tablet but once figured out is pretty easy to use. Have to give cat a tablet every day that have to cut in half and put in a capsule as taste awful and capsules are harder to spit out. Did about 15 in the time it usually takes me to do 3/4 and also cut really well with very few bits. 🎉😊

I bought the pill cutter in order to cut some large prescribed tablets which I find difficult to swallow. I chose it because it was made from metal rather than plastic like many pill cutters on the market. Yes, it works quite well and cuts the tablets, but my two criticisms of it are :- ( 1) the only way to hold the tablet in place before cutting is to trap it between the blades and (2) the handles are far too short for an elderly person who does not have too strong a grip. Longer handles would make using it so much easier, especially when you are cutting large hard, coated tablets which need a good degree of pressure to be exerted in order to make the cut.

I can’t see it ever being likely to break, and a plastic free item is always appreciated. This is a great gadget, if a bit pricey.
