Purchased for school.
This was a must have for my PLC class, however we only used about half of the material. The writer is extremely technical, which is to be expected considering the content, but he has a love affair with part numbers. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it can be overwhelming for someone just getting into this or not experienced with the product line. Covers pretty much all Allen Bradley PLC's.Books are expensive : /

Lab manual helpful
This lab manual gives detailed hands-on exercises for programming an Allen Bradley SLC 500 with the RSLogix 500 software. If the book came with a version of the RSLogix 500 software, it would be even better. For my use, it reinforced what I learned in a PLC college course. The course had used Dunning's Intro to PLC 3rd ed. text and instructor-supplied supplemental material, but not this lab manual. You can use this lab manual if you are new to PLCs to learn step-by-step ladder logic programming with the RSLogix 500. There are a lot of screen shots throughout each lab exercise, so if you do not have access to the software, you can still follow along.
