Well presented and good construction!
Well presented and good construction; a bit of a shame that the code cannot be changed (unless you have the tools at your disposal to grind another lock etch into the tumblers). Do not expect this device to provide you with any amount of physical security, this is merely a novelty item; it's only 4-screws away from being taken apart! Excellent key-ring item, if not a little heavy.

Looks good, works well
This is a good product and looks as displayed Positive • Functional • Looks good • Helps security Negative • The code cannot be changed • The lock is primarily a deterrent, rather than an impenetrable defence

Faulty, not functioning after 2 months
Idea is great, but the USB device itself is a really poor chipset which makes it work even poorly due to the design itself, disconnecting randomly and/or not even reading the flash drive at all. Was expecting this thing to break down at some point, but happened much sooner than anticipated - after using it for a total amount of about 5 to 7 times, none of my PCs/laptops or any other devices will mount the drive at all. Tried USB extensions, USB3, USB2, and every other combination. The thing just died. Nice gimmick, but very very poor functionality - could probably buy better flash drives for a quarter of the price 10 years ago.

Very good, with two weak points.
This is a lovely bit of kit, although it has some bad points. It's designed well, has a good solid weight to it. You can tell it's metal through and through. Aesthetically, it's steampunk, but not outlandishly so, it's tastefully done; there are no friviolous cogs or wheels or little puffs of steam. It does not feel dated or outclassed by other USB sticks. Rather, it feels like a perfect mixture of modern technology with a design that has a sense of character about it. There are, however, two weaknesses: firstly, the USB stick is attached to the belt; which means you have to undress every time you want to use it. It really should be the other way around with the Cryptex itself attached to the belt. Secondly, the stick is small and uses USB 2. This isn't going to be a massive problem, but for the price paid a larger storage and/or more modern interface should be part of it. Nonetheless, this adds a lot of character to technology that is otherwise plain and boring.

I love this thing.
Fantastically geeky type of device. This device has 100000 possible combinations. Plus, if someone of slightly lower intelligence steals it, will probably multiply that by four because there are four sides that the numbers can be entered. But the code can only be entered on one of the four sides. This was a complete spur of the moment buy and I am delighted with it. And in keeping with Leonardo's tendency, hide the combination so it is hidden in full view. But not attached to the device itself. One of the ends of the device has a small sticker with the combination. It is quite hard to see but keep a note of it or stick it on something like a bus pass. Unlike the original design, you wont break a small glass tube filled with acid that will destroy the contents if the wrong combination is entered. Still, should you loose your combination it will only take you as long as it takes to enter the 100000 possible combinations. DON'T LOOSE THE COMBINATION.

Over Priced but good product (Read to get it at best value for money)
I bought the 64gb brass version without doing any research stupidly, inside the usb port there is a micro sd card wich can be replaced, with anothre if you are to buy this product i suggest getting the 16 gb and replacing it with a self bought higher memory micro sd. Product cost=£55 64gb Micro SD = £8.99 (Sandisk one ) £55-£8.99 =£46.01 Cheapest option (16) = £35 £35 + £8.99= £43.90 Why the extra cost? the Micro SD has no brand name and is made in Taiwan All in i enjoy the product, no signs of the screws coming loose yet but i am only a few days in so far with repeated use. Looks amazing in person the product pictures dont give it justice, in the pictures it looks cheaply sprayed to look brass but its not.

Great bit of fun
Great bit of fun. Make sure you remember the code though, as its not changeable (and would take forever to try and guess!) Its well made, and a reasonably heavy unit. I haven't intentionally dropped it, but I can see it taking a good beating if it was to be dropped. Anyone who likes their novelty / geeky toys, this will be perfect for you :)

Nice design but need to align the numbers carefully
Very nice well presented gift. The only problem is that the instruction are rather vague and should have pointed out that the code numbers have to be aligned with the notches in one of the segments. However it’s nicely designed, sturdy, looks the part and does the job. Pity it doesn’t appear to be possible to change the combination code from that supplied.

Great novelty, conversation piece and functioning memory stick. Kind of bummed that you can't customize the code, but I wouldn't knock off a star for something I knew about when ordering. Mine looks just like the photo, with nice worn (looking) brass. Number dials all turn easily and stay in position. Confirmed 16GB USB drive works. As some have pointed out, yes, you could technically remove the screws holding the cryptex together. To remedy this you can either: (1) apply locktite to the screws and never worry about it again, or (2) just make sure the screws aren't loose and don't act like this thing is holding government secrets.
