Excellent. I'm really enjoying reading this book. It's challenging but not too hard for my level of knowledge. Lots of support at end of each chapter.

This is a great book to expand your knowledge of Italian. You would need at least 18 months of prior study to benefit from this book. Some great stories to read.

Overall a really good aid for me, a beginner who has done some work previously (so working towards A2 on the language levels).First the negatives. The stories themselves are a little dumb and I'm sure that they could have been made stronger without loosing the energy or easy-read aspects. That's about it for negatives.On the positive, I've enjoyed reading and re-reading them. They're well organised and structured for a learner, just the right level to stretch and develop me but without putting me off or making me feel it was a chore. Nice short chapters and move along at pace.Initially i got the book, then I moved on and got it on Audible too. Initially i used the two independently and it was really useful having read the stories once to be able to work on my listening comprehension whilst travelling or just going for walk. Now i've moved on to listening and reading at the same time to improve my pronunciation.They have definitely helped broaden my vocabulary and to re-inforce some the learning I'm doing.Best seen as an additional resource, sometimes you don't want to study but do want to keep moving with your language learning. You can do some of that on the internet, but this is definitely a good extra way of keeping moving forward.Enjoyed it enough to buy the second in the series for Christmas !!!

Stories are interesting and it definitely supports learning a language.I do recommend!

I'm a complete beginner this is a really good book to start reading because you don't know everything it gets the words and sentences in your brain quick and Swift all start it also the stories are quite fun and not too serious and they're not too long so you can read on the bus to train or even whilst in the loo

I am a year into a Beginners Italian class and think this is great. Well structured to give short bursts (10-15 mins) with plenty of new / explained vocab, and much more engaging than a textbook.I will be looking for more...

Easy to read with highlighted vocabulary- all in Italian apart from the introductory notes on how to us3 the book. I thought I had bought an intermediate level book, having already having an intermediate Spanish volume, but was surprised to find it was for beginners. However, it is still useful, though quite an easy read if you some knowledge of Italian.

Short Stories in Italian is an excellent book for beginners as they work to learn Italian. They are well written, engaging and clear. They engender a real feeling of making progress. Highly recommended.

La progression est parfaite!Le seul fait de lire des histoires courtes comme celle-ci, nous permet de sortir des méthodes classiques principalement accès sur le dialogue (on peut penser à l'excellente méthode Assimil).Ici, l'approche est bien différente. Il s'agit surtout de nous habituer peu à peu à la formulation littéraire d'une langue.Ce n'est pas une méthode d'apprentissage à part entière (avec ses explications grammaticales traditionnelles), mais bien de courtes histoires, aux tournures de plus en plus complexes, aux vocabulaires de plus en plus fouillés, qui vont nous pousser, sans même nous en rendre compte, à assimiler une écriture livresque, une écriture soutenue.Comme je le disais au début de ce commentaire, la progression est parfaite.

Good book for learning through dialogue. I would rate this just above beginner level on the difficulty scale. The most difficult of words are presented to you again at the end of each reading which is fantastic. The stories are easy to follow along and surprisingly interesting. This is the first time buying a book from this author - I wasn’t crazy about the error in one of the questions at the end of the first chapter - the answer is not accurate for question 5. I sent a msg to the author on LinkedIn to see if maybe I got something wrong with my interpretation of the question/answer, they read it but did not respond. I showed it to a few italian family members and they agreed that it didn’t make sense. So I was kinda thrown off a bit after the first chapter but whatever, I will continue buying books from this author.
