The PivotPi is a complete kit to turn anything in your world into a moving robot. The PivotPi is a servo controller for the Raspberry Pi. It can control up to 8 servos, allowing you to make projects that move, grab, dance, swing, wave, and many other motions. You can use the PivotPi to create robots, automate your home, make moving sculptures, and craft animatronics built with the Raspberry Pi. Easy to program!
This is a great little board for controlling servos; no soldering just plug it in and the code samples are easy to use. It’s the same board size as the Pi Zero family - I use it with a Pimoroni hammer header, but the new Pi Zero WH will make it even easier to get started with Pi servo motor projects where space is at a premium. Support on the Dexter Industries forums was very helpful. The 9685 controller chip connects over I2C and has support for 16 distinct PWM channels; this board provides 8 servo connectors - enough for a complex robot - and a PWM controlled LED above each connector to be used as one sees fit, indicating motor activity or other status.
