Slim, trim, very effective.
Love the Omron HJ-320. I was introduced to this product via a research study that I participated in at a University lab. I needed to count the number of steps I was taking daily and report the results to the research office. This product is very slim, good strong clip to use on your clothing or it has the option to work just as effectively by having it in the pocket of your pants, skirt, coat, etc. It records 7 days at a time and has a variety of other options for you to record your physical activity. I was so impressed with the Omron HJ-320 after wearing it in conjunction with this research study for over 6 weeks that I bought one for myself. Good product, strong clip, easy to use and program, can be worn on your clothing or records just as easy by carrying it in your pocket.

Omron HJ-320 Tri-Axis Pedometer
Exactly what we were looking for... a simple pedometer that works like a charm. No hassle, just pop it in you pocket in the morning and it will keep a 7 day record of the correct time, the miles you've walked, and how many steps you've taken. Being small and light is a plus. Perhaps a heart monitor could be worked into the next series. Would recommend this pedometer to any one looking for a no frills product - just a good one.

Simple, low cost, and reliable gadget
Low cost and excellent performance. It is very simple to set up, extremely light weight, small footprint, and records steps accurately. Just drop it in your pocket and forget about it. I only use it for walks and it is very accurate, within a foot. The main source of discrepancy is in how you measure your stride (step). Since the stride changes with velocity, think of the figure as an average plus or minus a small difference with the measured length (true length of the circuit). An adjustment of just one inch gave me the exact same figures (device, circuit) so be aware of this. The device resets itself automatically every day and allows for up to 7 days history plus today (total of 8 days). Converts steps to distance and has a clock (not a stopwatch, just a clock), so if you want time you have to either bring a stopwatch or record start / finish time. You may select miles or kilometers. Extremely useful. If you are having separate sessions just record the initial steps count and/or miles/kilometer count and the substract from it.

Small & Accurate
It's a nice little thing, especially for the price. I've tried numerous times with how accurate it is--and it is VERY accurate. All you have to do is stick it in your pocket, and it's small enough to forget it's even there, and the slim shape makes it so you don't need to worry about it falling out. I also like how it has the memory--it seems to add a bit of motivation to move more so you have more on your record. I was lucky enough to get it right before they turned it into an add-on item! The size is very compact and it fits in a pocket well. It's 3 inches long, and about 1 1/8th of an inch wide, and about a third of an inch thick (without the clip). It's very small, About a third of the size seems to be solely for the brand name, and I think if they make an update they should take that part off and put the brand name somewhere else--make it just that much smaller! Also, it takes a minute or two to set it up (which isn't a bad thing). And when you run, it counts each step as one step (I think they're supposed to--I'm not a professional). I would recommend it to anyone who wants a simple and accurate pedometer.

Simple, effective, and cheap
Bought this for my wife. It counts daily strides and distance walked, nothing else. It can't be turned on or off, though the display blanks after a bit to save on the battery. Each day, so long as you wear it, it accumulates your strides. You can look at your totals at any time. At midnight it resets everything to zero and saves your totals. The most recent seven days' totals are always available and can be scrolled though. Older days are lost. So basically after the first setting you do nothing; you either wear the unit or you don't. Initial setup is pretty easy -- measurement units, stride length, and current time. The unit comes with a slide on clip, which my wife uses to hold it to the waist of her pants, or you can leave the clip off and put the unit in a pocket. There is also a small screwdriver to change the battery when necessary. It's a *very* small screwdriver, so keep it somewhere safe and remember where you put it! The unit itself is small and thin and almost weightless, but the display is big enough to read. It doesn't much care about orientation since it has a 3-axis accelerometer, which is nice. So, strides and distance walked. Nothing else. It won't tell you how many calories you've burned or your weight on Jupiter, and it won't connect with your computer. But if it meets your needs in a pedometer, it's simple, well-designed, and cheap.

Didn't work for me.
It may be the fact that I use a walker, but I expected a body-worn pedometer to be more accurate than my watch or phone. Both watch and phone return readings that are off by 10-15%. The pedometer's readings were always off by at least 50% and, in one case, by 90%. I carried it in a pocket where the sensors should capture accurate data. This device gets generally good reviews, so it might be just me. This is probably not related, but the device was not shipped in a box. (see photo)

Not very accurate
I bought his pedometer for my wife and myself because of the good reviews it received. Setup was easy. We input our stride length and time and all that. I have a 24" stride and my wife has a 20". Right off the bat we both noticed it not counting our steps accurately. We figured out it will only count your steps once you get into a rhythm (7-8 steps). This is great for walk, runs, trips to the grocery store, etc... But for house work, cleaning, laundry...no good. Yesterday I decided to go back through the setup process and reset my stride length to 20" to see if it would work better. My wife has gone down to 16". So far it seems to be counting more accurately. I'll update after this week.

Easy to use, easy to lose!
The Omron HJ-320 pedometer was exactly what I wanted. I didn't need bells and whistles, and this model provides plenty of information. I liked the memory feature. I also liked that I could check my activity in both the number of steps I took and in miles. The original set-up was easy, even for a granny like me. The little screen was easy to read. The pedometer recorded accurately, even when I just tucked it into a pocket rather than using the clip. I liked mine so well that I got one for my handicapped husband. Because his mobility is severely limited, his did not record well until we clipped it to his shoe, where it worked fine. It was remarkable how this little gadget motivated him to do more walking! Unfortunately, the clips are not infallibly secure. I lead a fairly active life, and from time to time I needed to check that my pedometer was not slipping out of the slot which holds it on the clip. It ended up that we both lost our pedometers because they became detached without our realizing it. My next pedometer will definitely be an Omron, but I will look for a lanyard-style model that can be worn around the neck, or a wristwatch style.

Simple and effective
Works great, tracks relatively accurate. Measures in steps and kilometres (or miles), keeps data for a week. Fairly easy setup, and it's small enough to fit in any of my pockets so it doesn't have to show.

Excellent
I bought this to use with a weight loss app and it was important for me to do a set amount of steps a day. This is so a curate as you have to first measure your stride and enter it in to the pedometer. It also tells you how many miles or kilometers you have walked and a clock. So easy to use. I wear it every day just clip it on to my belt trousers or even on to my bra and it never falls off.

Accurate until it stopped working properly
This was a good, accurate product, but within a couple of months, it would not let me reset the distance walked which rendered it pretty much useless. However, this company allowed me to return the device unlike the company I first brought the same product from over on Ebay. This was my final attempt to locate an Omron device that worked for more than a couple of months. Sadly, every device I bought had the same problem, however, this company was the only one to allow me to return the device (although I don't think I've heard back from them yet).
