Rich blend, in the morning my kitchen now smells better than a fancy cafe!
**5.0 out of 5 stars — My coffee maker finally knows what it's doing. The flavor is the whole story here: rich, smooth, a little nutty, zero bitterness — the kind of cup that makes you sip slower just to make it last. No sour bite, no burnt afterthought, just this deep roasted goodness that somehow works both straight and with milk. My espresso pulls a crema so thick I'm convinced the machine is showing off. Docked nothing. Five stars. My only complaint is that it's ruined regular coffee for me, and I will be billing Lavazza for my newfound snobbery.

The medium roast I've been looking for
Quick Take Lavazza Super Crema is one of my favorite coffees, and the biggest reason is the medium roast. I often find coffee falls into one of two extremes for me: darker roasts can be too bitter, intense or bold, while lighter roasts sometimes don't have enough richness and flavor. Super Crema hits the balance I've been looking for. It's smooth and rich without being overpowering, and it's become one of the coffees I regularly keep on hand. Pros: Excellent medium roast flavor Smooth and rich without being overly bitter or intense Good balance of flavor and caffeine for my taste Makes a great cup in my De'Longhi automatic coffee maker Also makes an excellent pot of coffee in a percolator Versatile enough for everyday drinking or serving to guests The 2.2-pound bag lasts a while Consistently enjoyable cup after cup Cons: If you strongly prefer very dark or very light roasts, this particular roast profile may not be what you're looking for It's a little more expensive than some everyday grocery-store coffees, although I think the flavor is worth it My Verdict: 5 stars. I'm a pretty picky coffee drinker, and Super Crema hits a sweet spot for me that a lot of other coffees don't. I want richness and flavor, but I don't want my coffee to be so dark that it becomes bitter or overly intense. At the same time, I don't want a light roast that tastes thin or lacks character. This one gets that balance right. I use it regularly in my De'Longhi automatic coffee maker, where it makes a really nice cup of coffee, but one of my favorite things about it is that it also makes an amazing pot in a percolator when I'm out camping in the forest. There's something pretty satisfying about having a great coffee in the middle of nowhere. ☕️ I rotate between this and a locally roasted coffee I really enjoy, but I keep coming back to Super Crema. If you like a smooth, flavorful medium roast that isn't too bitter, too bold or too light, this is absolutely one I'd try.

Excellent value for espresso and lattes
I’m a coffee nerd and usually buy medium roast coffees for espresso, so I was curious how Super Crema would compare after all the forums talked about it. The bag I received was roasted almost three months earlier. I would always prefer fresher beans, but that was better than I expected for a large 2.2 lb bag of coffee ordered from Amazon. The beans look like a medium roast to me, though on the darker side, which I was happy about because some other Lavazza coffees I’ve tried have been much darker than I prefer. I was able to dial these in pretty quickly and have been pulling excellent shots over the past week. Even at nearly three months off roast, I’m still getting tons of crema and a really nice looking espresso. The flavor isn’t necessarily my favorite coffee I’ve ever had, but for the price it’s excellent. It has a pleasant amount of complexity without anything being too overpowering, along with a really nice mouthfeel that works especially well in milk drinks. It makes an awesome latte and still has enough coffee flavor to come through the milk. Since it’s such a large bag, I transferred the beans into airtight containers after opening it. One other thing I’ve noticed is that this blend seems to hit me a little harder caffeine-wise than the medium roast coffees I usually drink, which makes sense considering it contains some Robusta.

Every bag I try, I'll update this review.
I'm a home-barista, and I own a Breville Barista Pro. It's a great home espresso machine. I drink my espresso straight, or as iced-coffee in the summer and lattés when it's cold. That's the context. Now, how do I like these coffees? In general, I've found Lavazza coffees to be good in quality and arrive fresh and ready to brew. The company packs their coffee tightly and with the oxygen in the bag replaced by nitrogen. Some people wonder about where to find the "roasted-on" date on the bag, but for this particular packaging method, the "best-by" date is an appropriate measure. 1. October 2022, Barista Gran Crema: It's marketed as floral, with notes of baked-goods and honey. I very much agree with the baked-goods and honey. Acidity is low and well-balanced by the deep full-city roast. More on the "intense" side of the scale (as Lavazza puts it), it tolerates milk extremely well because its interesting and moderately complex profile is able to cut through the sweetness of the milk so well. Enjoyable and a great value for the money. I highly recommend latté lovers try this out. 2. January 2023, Super Crema: It's marketed as a medium roast with notes of hazelnut and brown or cane sugar. It's well known among the coffee shop community and I could instantly see why. It's a very well-balanced and inoffensive blend. Certainly another full-city roast, it's slightly earthy on the sip, and then nutty and slightly oaky on the finish. Here's the truth about this blend: It's hard to hate it or love it the same way few people hate or love a Toyota Corolla. It's just really good at doing the job for a fair price, and it does nothing that will surprise you. Enjoy it however you want, it's not bad at anything. It might actually remind you of a coffee you grabbed at a cafe lately. 3. February 2023, Crema E Aroma: It’s marketed as a medium roast with notes of chocolate. And if that was all you knew about this blend, you could almost write this review yourself. You can sum this coffee up in a few words: creamy, intense and chocolatey- a testament to the heavy proportion of robusta coffee beans in this blend. It’s also very rich and full of mouthfeel. Lavazza says it's made to be had with milk, but you still might find the espresso overpowering the dairy a bit. Lowering the dose helped me find a good balance between coffee and milk. Conclusion: Crema E Aroma fills a niche. Not all coffee needs to be delicate and complex. There’s absolutely a place for an intense, rich latté. Personally, I see it as more of a change-of-pace option for me rather than a daily driver. 4. If you found this review helpful, let me know and I'll keep adding to this as I try out more varieties from this brand.

Rich, smooth coffee with a creamy finish
I am definitely not a coffee expert, so I cannot give you a fancy breakdown of every tasting note, but I can tell you this is really good coffee. The beans smell great as soon as you open the bag, and they grind cleanly without making a mess. We usually grind enough for several days at a time, and these have been easy to work with. The flavor is full and rich without tasting harsh or burnt. There is a slight creamy note to it that makes it taste smoother than a lot of stronger coffees I have tried. It still has enough body to feel like a good, substantial cup of coffee, but it is not bitter. I have really enjoyed this blend and would absolutely buy it again.

Unicorn Sunshine & Rainbows
I’ve been tasting specialty coffee from around the world, the stuff rated the best by Coffee Review and all that, but here I am, returning to a classic. I was going to repeat Anthony Bourdain’s quote, not to be afraid to eat a bad meal every once in a while, but that doesn’t hold true because this is very fine coffee. The bad stuff tastes like you’re drinking brewed cigarette ashes. This is nowhere close to that. This is like liquid unicorn excrement, in the best way. I suppose the specialty roaster “world’s best” stuff is like that, but if the unicorn tinkle was intoxicated by narcotics. In other words, this brew tastes nutty, and bold. Intense, and super duper creamy. It’s bombastic! The bag is massive and can sustain espresso shots day and night for you and all your chaps!

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
Lavazza Super Crema Whole Bean Coffee is an outstanding everyday espresso blend that consistently delivers a smooth, balanced cup. From the first grind, it has a rich, inviting aroma that makes the brewing process feel like part of the experience. The flavor profile is where this coffee really shines. The blend of Arabica and Robusta beans creates a nice balance of smoothness and mild sweetness with a light, creamy body. It produces a well-rounded espresso that’s not overly bitter, making it very approachable for both beginners and more experienced coffee drinkers. One of the standout qualities is the consistency. Each brew comes out reliably good, whether used in an espresso machine, moka pot, or even a drip setup. The crema it produces is thick and velvety, which adds a café-quality feel to home espresso shots. In terms of value, it’s an excellent choice for a daily coffee. The quality is high enough to feel premium, but it’s still affordable enough for regular use without hesitation. The beans also stay fresh well when stored properly, maintaining flavor over time. Overall, Lavazza Super Crema is a dependable, smooth, and enjoyable coffee that works well for everyday drinking. It’s versatile, flavorful, and consistently satisfying—an easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys a balanced espresso-style roast at home.

The reliable everyday bean — smooth, sweet crema, and it never disappoints
This has become my default bean, and that's the whole review really — it's the one I keep reordering. The flavour profile is what makes it work: smooth and mellow with a mild sweetness and notes of honey and almonds, low acidity, and none of the burnt bitterness that ruins so many supermarket beans. It's forgiving in a way that matters day to day — it doesn't punish you for a slightly-off grind or a rushed shot, and it tastes good across the board, whether that's espresso, a flat white, or something long. The crema is genuinely good — thick, persistent, and properly golden rather than the thin grey foam cheaper beans produce. That's the name on the bag and it earns it. The other reason to buy it is consistency. Bag after bag, it's the same coffee — no lottery, no bad batch, no wondering why today's tastes different. For an everyday bean that's worth more than chasing the perfect single origin. It's also freshly roasted and sensibly priced for the quality, particularly if you buy the larger bag. Bottom line: Smooth, sweet, forgiving, with excellent crema and rock-solid consistency. If you want one bean that always works, this is it. 5 stars.

High Value Roast, Especially If Crema Is your priority.
High-Value Roast, this coffee is a revelation in value. It consistently delivers a spectacular, velvety, generous crema with a decent micro-bubble structure that holds up well, whether pulled as a tight, concentrated ristretto or a longer lungo. While the official tasting notes label this blend as "mild," I'm not sure I agree. This is a wonderfully robust and full-bodied espresso. What makes it truly exceptional, however, is its balance. It offers a powerful, deeply resonant presence in the cup without the harsh, over-extracted bitterness that is often found in roasts of this intensity. I’m using it with the Philips self-grind machine and I’m thrilled to have replaced my Nespresso.
