Great For Hot Water Tanks! Sediment Prevention is great!
Great Filter to protect your Hot Water Tank from sediment buildup! I also put the larger Whole Home (Yellow) Scale RX Filter on my Water Main, just after a large 15 micron PreFilter! No issues with hard water anymore!

Protecting my new investments with ScaleRX
Moving into a new house I wanted to make sure I was protecting my new investments including my large 80 gallon water heater that I special ordered. A neighbor of mine had told me about ScaleRX that he installed on his water heater to prevent scale buildup on the inside of his water heater, and I decided to try one myself. I did need a little help installing it because I haven't done a lot of pipe work, but it really was pretty simple. We turned off the water, connected one end directly to the inlet, added a fitting to the other end, connected it back up, and turned on the water. Everything has been running smoothly with no pressure drop, and I like that it didn't need electricity since I don't have an accessible plug close, or chemicals like many of the other products I looked at before purchasing deciding on ScaleRX. It was also a good size to fit into my tiny water heater closet located under my stairs and you can tell it's very well made. The stainless steel body is solid and I'm glad to have added this preventative measure to my expensive water heater giving my system the longest life possible and protect my water heater and pipes.

Seems to work on scale buildup.
I have used this for 1 year in front of an on demand Rheem hot water heater. I just did my first descaling cleanout process on my water heater and had very minima if any build up of calcium. I have not I suspect these work pretty well unless you have medium to really hard water. But then you need something else anyway to manage it effectively if that is the case.

Amazing filter, didn’t affect my flow rate at all. Would recommend to anyone.

Do Not Buy!
This thing is garbage. Provided no noticeable change in water scale. After being in service for approximately 1 year, internals started breaking down and cloggging all of the faucet/shower endpoints with a silty residue that required almost daily clean out to maintain any water flow. I would leave a zero star review if possible. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ITEM!!!

Cheaper than the supply house
As a plumber my self this is the only thing I install on tankless water heaters. No need for a filter you have to replace every year

Seems to work fine. It was recommended by a plumber who installed it on tankless water heater line to prevent scaling.
