Mercedes Benz 124 Series 85 93

If you own a Mercedes-Benz W124 and enjoy working on your own car, this Haynes manual is a great investment. I have purchased at least a dozen Haynes, Chilton, etc. repair manuals over the years, and this book is by far the best I have seen. What makes it unique is that is uses few (if any) "stock" photos. By that, I mean it shows the parts from the actual exact model. For example, even a simple task, like checking the oil level, even shows the actual Mercedes 300E/D dipstick. Not many manuals offer that level of detail. I own three 300D's. This manual provides extensive coverage of the diesel models (also covers gassers).

A pretty limited manual that is still handy to find things, get most torque specs, and provide overall guidance. Not at all comprehensive, however, because it tries to cover too many models and engine configurations in one book. Often, it's hard to know which paragraphs relate to your car, and which pictures relate to which text. Not a bad resource, however, if you own a 124-series MB (300E, and more).

I just purchased a 1995 e320 wagon but did not want to have to run to the specialist for every job. This book contains enough detail to keep me busy. If you want to understand how to do most traditional DIY jobs then this is for you. It will help you with services, brake jobs, basic A/C and a host of other maintenance items. I believe if you have access to a full workshop, etc. then this may not be the manual for you, as it does not show you how to rebuild a gearbox, AC compressor etc. If you are an expert mechanic then this may not be detailed enough for you. Mr average Joe like me - will love the tips and help to diagnose issues without paying specialist rates. Good Luck Chris

I needed the electric diagram for the turbo diesel engine and this manual only has the gas motor diagram. A lot of info in the manual but just not what I needed. I ended up finding what I needed online I should have just saved the money.

Not a bad book for the basic work to be done to care for the vehicle and keep it going. Good for the average do-it-yourself person with basic tools. I was looking for more on the electrical system, climate control and sunroof, but there was not much about them. I'll leave it in the trunk for reference or the next owner but I would have liked at least a usable wiring diagram.

Very useful when I need information about repair details. There are not illustrations of every single repair, but the written description is excellent and easy to follow. Been using Haynes books for over 50 years and have never been disappointed.

This book is a great source of information for doing general servicing and repairs to your W124. There are clearly laid out step-by-step instructions with an abundance of accompanying photos to assist you. If you own a W124 Mercedes and want to do your own repairs or servicing, this book is well worth buying - however... If you (like me) have a W124 300CE-24 be aware that this book might not hold all the answers! There are many subtle variations in the engine and ancillaries of this model and the book may or may not help you.

The book is correct except for a detail, is in swedish, not English edition (as described). I didn't have problem with the devolution, fluid and satisfied with the communication. Quick refund. I hope that I'll can buy the product that I expected in the nearly future.
