Packed with umami
This is the best XO sauce I’ve found. It’s full of quality ingredients like dried scallop, and absolutely packed with flavor. It’s meant for cooking, but a teaspoon added to a bowl of rice turns the rice into a meal.

Great if you know how to use it, and don't have a limited palate
I believe this product gets more negative reviews than it deserves. I can understand quality-control and shipping complaints, like "pop up lid popped" or "only received one bottle". What irks me is negative reviews from people who don't like the fermented character of the product. That is what it is supposed to taste like, people.. One reviewer claimed their friend was a cook at a high-end Italian restaurant and didn't like it - but Italians use fermented fish products like Colatura di Alici (buy on Amazon). Others said there was too much oil. The cook should control the oil ratio. Depending on your application, use some flavored oil and some solids. For example, reduce low-sodium chicken bone broth by half, add XO solids, add some of the XO oil, add some tarragon. Makes great sauce for skate, scallops, shrimp, fish.. Excess XO oil can be used for coating pasta, or in a vinaigrette. Just dumping the whole jar, mindlessly, into your dish is a reflection of poor culinary skill, not the product itself. Also, the product is not excessively salty.

Good product
Arrived packed in a bubble pouch - which as a glass jar, could have been damaged, but showed up OK. Tried the sauce on rice alone and it is strong. I would use this as a replacement fish sauce. It's a little strong on the dried prawns/scallops side of things. If you love that, you will love the sauce. I was looking for more umami flavor, and I know that some XO sauces are made with cured ham as well, which may balance the flavor more. In this case, just know that a little goes a long way. Enjoy.

Savor the Flavor
Some sauces are real good. Some exceed expectations. I originally bought the Lee Kum Kee XO sauce for chicken and fish. I started putting in on tuna fish - then chicken breast - and then, everything. The sauce can be used on everything. It is NOT extra hot. It is loaded with oyster shells (crushed), other ingredients (which are not labeled) and taste. I have ordered a minimum of four 7.8oz bottles. In my 'cookery', sauces are applied as the user wants them. With the XO sauce, and cooking hot, add it at the end. With a tuna fish sandwich, put it on just prior to eating. The flavor is outstanding either way unless you cook it too soon. Take one bite and savor it. It is a sauce in its own class. Make sure to shake the container as hard as you can to allow all the flavors to peak. I have even had it on good cheese and crackers. It is expensive and because it comes in a glass jar, shipping is also expensive. If you want a treat for your palate, give it a try. I promise you won't be disappointed. P.S. - hide this sauce from everyone in your household -you are going to want it all for yourself.

ChiChi says this taste like a less salty fish sauce and at this price is not worth it.
ChiChi says this tastes like fish! I was expecting something out of this world, and it ain't. I put this on Swordfish and it was very good, also tried on scallops, but decided I didn't want to have my steak tastes like fish so didn't try it with that. It is basically like a glorified fish sauce only oily and thicker and less salty. I also hate the fact that the little tiny shrimp are whole and look much like a maggots in the dish. It is very good on the fish and gives it a nice "umami" taste. Otherwise just use fish sauce or anchovies and you will get a similar taste. Not worth the price.

Super tasty condiment
An excellent condiment that tastes of roasted shrimp. Very slightly spicy. Super on anything like pizza. Just spoon it on whatever out of the jar. Has that umami taste.

Flavour taste #1
The best tasting flavour enhancer on the planet. Mix it through your cereal, or add some to your smoothies! A little goes a long way so easy does it. Yumm

Tasty! But not 2000 ruypees worth
I bought this out of curiosity. It's very tasty stuff, but I'm not sure it's worth paying roughly 10 times the cost of a Char Sui sauce bottle from the same manufacturer.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed with this product. It is described as spice seafood sauce. I could NOT taste the spice or the seafood.

Package “screams quality” but will add after use - very tasty.
I haven’t actually opened the jar yet but the product appears to scream “quality” I am hoping it lives up to the “hype” I ordered it after seeing an episode of “masterchef,” and looked up the ingredients - and priced them. I would not like to risk ,the expense of the ingredients in my amateur kitchen. It is expensive but time will tell. It did get “lost” in transit, but arrived eventually. Update: this sauce is very nice, not quite what I expected but very tasty.

Tastiest XO on the market
I'm a condiment fanatic, and this was a recommendation. If you're yearning for a savoury, umami kick to add as a garnish to a range of dishes, this is it. Similar to chilli crisp (but with seafood like shrimp in it, which you can taste), this is great with so much, and becomes quite addictive. Specifically though, amazing on all kinds of noodles and stir fries, but also on things like eggs.
